I believe that the muslim Barak Obama should be stopped from becoming president. I hope that the white racists in the south all vote against him.

Im with you, he needs to be stopped. No muslim should EVER be the president or prime minister of a civilized western country, sharia and islam are contrary to democracy and freedom.

I don't think I've ever heard Obama mention anything about his father's faith, other than when he talks about his own adopted Christian faith when he became old enough to do so.

As far as the Pope, he does acknowlege this much in his memoirs. He was also the proud head of the body formerly known as the "Sacred Congregation of the Universal Inquisition." Does that make him evil? According to your analogy, this would mean that all Catholics would be subject to an apostacy in order to prove their patriotism.

THere is abundant evidence that Obama DID attend muslim services with his stepfather, and again, he has acknowleged that he is proud of his bi-religious background.
The general rule for ex Muslims or ex hitler youth, is that I only accept them if they formally denounce their roots. Which OBAMA has not done but benedict has done.

I am doing my best to demolish Obama's candidacy, but I am not getting the help I need--namely, people blogging and writing letters to the editor about his ongoing promotion of the prominent racist and anti-Semite Al Sharpton. Meanwhile, another issue has come up: serious accusations of election fraud and voter intimidation against both the Obama and Clinton camps--by the Clinton and Obama camps. The complaints were sent to the Nevada Democratic Committee, but Obama's and Clinton's people posted them publicly so we should really share them with the entire country. All voters should know that these two characters are behaving more like banana republic dictators than like candidates for Chief Executive of the United States.
Having said that, I counsel against using "Obama is a Muslim." First, I don't think it is true. Second, even if it were, being an ordinary Muslim (as distinguished from an Islamic supremacist) does not disqualify someone from office. Saying that it does is a lot like saying that a woman, Black, Jew, Catholic, Asian, or Hispanic should not be elected because of their sex/religion/race/ethnicity. It makes our side look bad, and it gains sympathy for his side. I looked at the National "Jewish" Democratic Council page (http://njdc.typepad.com/stopthesmears/) and they have a very good and competent defense on the "Obama is a Muslim" smear. I wouldn't go near that issue.
On the other hand, NJDC has not even mentioned the Obama-Sharpton connection because there is no conceivable defense. The Obama campaign has not circulated any defense against it either. Instead of attacking the other side's strong position with a weak argument, we should attack a defenseless position with a devastating argument: someone who goes around empowering and promoting anti-Semites and racists, and especially those who have been connected at least indirectly to violent hate crimes (Freddy's Fashion Mart, murder of Yankel Rosenbaum) is not fit for any public office in a civilized country. I recently published a letter to the editor in a highly Democratic area, and no one tried to argue with me. I'm sure Obama has at least a few partisans in this region, but not one would associate his or her name with a defense of Obama's conduct with Sharpton.
Meanwhile, the accusations from the Clinton camp make Obama look like a prospective banana republic dictator whose camp perpetrates election fraud and voter intimidation--maybe we can remind those Democrats of the hanging chads and so on--and, as they come from his fellow Democrat, we don't even have to dirty our hands in the mud when we sling it at him. It's not our mud, it's Hillary Clinton's mud. We should help these two characters slime each other as much as possible so whichever one manages to win the primary will lose in the general election.
As for the white racists, they will all be voting for Ron Paul (the StørmFrønt.org candidate, I call him Ron Paul 1488), so we won't get any help from them in the primaries. Not that we really want that kind of help anyway...they are just Al Sharpton's Caucasian counterparts.

The prohibitions technically apply only to Jews, however, there is nothing wrong with extending it to other good people and just because someone is not Jewish does not necessarily make Lashon Hora right.

I'm not an expert in Christianity, however, to my understanding, baptism is not the basis of Christianity but a practice that some religious groups participate in. The basis for Barak Osama not being a Christian is called taquia(lying to the infidel). Try getting this piece of human excrement to denounce anything Muslim Nazi.

The problem is who is there to stop him? There is not one democrat for us to support over him and McCain gets the republican ticket, we have the likely choices of 4 years(because he won't be reelected) of hell vs 8-12(because McCain probably would be reelected and followed by a democrat). Even though Osama is worse, we need some relief in sight.

The big question becomes who is worse. McCain or Obama. While I think Obama is worse than McCain, Obama will only have four years if elected. Hilary and McCain both are capable to winning reelection even though they will be bad. At this point in time I really hope that either Huckabee and Rudy manage to pull through tomorrow.

Kenya's defeated presidential challenger Raila Odinga has claimed to be a cousin of Barack Obama and said that they had discussed his country's post-election violence.

Mr Obama's spokesman Robert Gibbs confirmed that the senator spoke to the Kenyan opposition leader on Monday afternoon for about five minutes before going into a rally in New Hampshire, according to Associated Press.

Trust me, if a black candidate runs that represents my values I will do what I can to help him or her get in office. I voted for Michael Steele for the Senate in 2006. Keep in mind that the black community did not support him because he did not promise handouts to all the freeloaders. If a black person runs for office with the same platform as Huckabee, I will support him in an instant. I am against Osama and McCain because they are both greedy socialists who want to make this country a third world banana republic. Hitlery doesn't even have an agenda. I can say the same thing about some of the white people I've come in contact with in my life. Smile in your face, stab you in the back. Surely, if a muslim from my past wanted me dead, I'm sure I'd be dead already. I'm not so small-minded that I think I'm going to be killed or harmed in some way by every muslim I come in contact with. I don't descriminate... I keep my eye out for anyone who would spitefully use me.

Erica. If you don't believe that Islam is bad, you don't belong on this website. Its the equivalent of ME being on StørmFrønt or BrownPride. I'd just be there to sound off against the premise/purpose of the group, but no one would listen.

Thats quite interesting about your uncle and JFK. Of all the Kennedy brothers I think JFK was the most benign. I believe if it wasn't for his brothers nasty attacks on people he had no business messing with JFK would have gone on to a full presidency. Moreover it was RFK that really pushed JFK into enacting the civil rights act that LBJ later signed under duress. RFK was nothing but poison to the Kennedy administration. The Democrats of that day were nothing like what we have today in the forms of Obama and Hillery. By todays standards JFK would almost be considered a moderate Republican. JFK had the experience handed down from his grandfather and father who were very well connected in politics. Obama is a flash in the pan sadly this guy has caught the attention of the American people for all the wrong reasons.

And I never met a muslim who tried to convert me. One of my best friens was a muslim. She's since left but we have been friends for 17 years...she never asked me to join her.

As far as I know, Idi Amin is the only African in the 20th century who actually ate people, although maybe some of his close associates did. Obama's father did not eat people, nor did he kill Jews or Christians.
On the other hand, Al Sharpton's followers did kill people for racist and/or anti-Semitic reasons, so we ought to focus on that instead.
There is a saying, "False in one thing, false in all." It means that, as soon as Obama's backers catch us making up one falsehood, they can discredit us even when we tell the truth, so we ought to just stick to the truth. It's more than damning enough.

THE DEATH of Jean-Bedel Bokassa, who rose through the French army tocrown himself emperor of Central Africa before adding the word "apostle"to his name, will remind France and Africa of some of the more bizarre momentsof their common history.
The Central African government promised yesterday an official funeral forits former leader whom its judges twice condemned to death for the bloodymassacres of children in 1979 during which he was charged with cannibalism.Bokassa, who was 75, died of a heart attack on Sunday in the villa wherehe had lived since his release from prison three years ago. His son, Jean-Charles,one of the former Central African leader's reported 55 children borne by17 wives, said Bokassa was "lucid" to the end.
In France, Bokassa is associated with the fall from popularity of the formercentre-Right President Valery Giscard d'Estaing. M Giscard d'Estaing's admissionthat he had accepted a gift of diamonds from Bokassa was partly blamed forhis defeat by Francois Mitterrand in the 1981 presidential election, eventhough it was M Giscard d'Estaing who sent French troops to drive Bokassafrom power.
Bokassa, born in Bobangui in 1921, was an orphan by the age of six. Hismother committed suicide a week after his father was murdered, leaving himto be brought up by missionaries. At 18, he demonstrated his commitmentto France, then the colonial power in his country, by joining the Frencharmy at the outbreak of the Second World War.
He was among the many thousands of African and North African Arab troopsto take part in the August 1944 landings in Provence. After the war, Bokassaserved in Indochina and Algeria, earning both the Legion d'Honneur and theCroix de Guerre. He left the French army with the rank of captain and returnedto his newly-independent country to become army chief of staff in 1964.

In 1972, he proclaimed himself marshal and president-for-life but his greatestmoment came on Dec 4, 1977, when he proclaimed himself emperor, renaminghis country the Central African Empire. He placed his crown on his own head,Napoleon Bonaparte-style.
In May 1979, Amnesty International said 100 children had been killed ina Bangui prison for protesting against the cost of school uniforms. Somesources said Bokassa not only participated personally in the massacre butate some of the victims.
Protesting that he was a fervent Christian - although he once briefly convertedto Islam after a session with Libya's Col Gaddafi - and the father of alarge family himself, Bokassa said he could never have harmed children.
Four months later, while Bokassa was visiting Libya, France mounted OperationBarracuda and sent paratroopers to restore Dacko to the presidency. Bokassaimmediately flew to France where, despite his legitimate claim to Frenchnationality, he was prevented from landing. Finally, after four years inIvory Coast, he was allowed to settle in his house at Haudricourt, westof Paris.
In 1986, although condemned to death in absentia, Bokassa decided to returnhome. After a seven-month trial, he was again sentenced to death but PresidentAndre Kolingba commuted the sentence to 20 years in prison. Released fromjail, Bokassa retired to a villa in the capital, Bangui.
Yesterday, the Central African state radio described him as "illustrious"and said he would be buried in his home village of Berengo. Ten years ago,during his disgrace, the same radio called him "the Ogre of Berengo".
