Carla Bruni, who could soon become France's new first lady, is a rich heiress and former supermodel whose past conquests range from rock stars to intellectuals.
President Nicolas Sarkozy today hinted that he was ready to marry the 40-year-old Italian, who has been romantically linked to both Mick Jagger and Eric Clapton.
The elegant brunette who turned to pop music in 2002 after a successful catwalk career has no qualms about talking of her love affairs - and professes not to believe in monogamy.
