Title: V the original mini-series
Post by: Dr. Dan on January 13, 2008, 01:15:50 PM
It's an 80's series about lizard aliens taking over earth.

There are messages in this show that liken to Nazi German and even present day Arabia/Islam.  If anyone has a chance to rent it or watch it, you'll see what I mean.

Sure, V.  I remember this show from when I was a young kid.  It was pretty cool.  In fact, it's one of the first TV shows I have any memory of watching.  It really did play up the Nazi themed influences.  I had heard they were supposed to do a remake of the show, but I don't believe anything has ever come of it.

"V" is one of my favorite series !!!

When I saw it for the first time, many years ago,
I couldn't do anything else but watch it,
it was so catching, so powerful !!!

And the alien-lizards,
the enemy of Mankind,
had a swastika-like emblem:

I have vague memories of seeing some of that.

Speaking of mini-series, the Terminator: Sarah Conners Chronicles just started premiering now. It looks awesome! What a perfect conclusion to the evening after seeing the Giants upset victory!!!  :) :) :)

I did like this series when it came out.  I was still in school.  Wow that seems a long time ago.

the remake if they ever do it shoudl be better than Independence Day...the 80's version is a little cheesy..but the orignal movie is great..the series..eh! just really bad acting.

Bad acting!  Are you aware that two of those great actors went on to add Beastmaster (Marc Singer) and Freddy Kruger (Robert England) to the pantheon of Great American film? :D
