I actually like South Park a lot (don't care for the language, but I find the humor to be very funny most of the time).

Blame the parents not show, they atlest shud be ones responsible, not State, not  Matt Stone and Trey Parker and definatly not kids.

ha! What can parents do? ALL their parental rights are taken away, parents these days are just there...
You can't blame the parents!
If that is the case, South Park i guess can still be blamed, because it caused parents/people to become backwards. Obviously this can not be the exact case of SP, but shows like it.

SP is cousing people backward how? It's comedy show and extremly anti PC one. Besides the parents are always repsonsible for their children no matter the excuses; that you're to busy that state is to interfiring in familly buisness etc...

I think SP is not suitable for kids.

This is true for parents who don't understand how to be parents... The show is hilarious but i would use the parental settings on the remote so that my kids cant watch it... if i had any.  I mean when i was growing up i wasnt allowed to watch beavis and butthead or the simpsons because my parents didnt agree with what was on the show.

but come on, majority of viewers are children !

And the majority of people are bad parents but that is their buisness and it is not your responsibility to look out for other people's kids...

What rights have been taken away from parents?  The only think you cant do is beat them or kill them.  And by beat i mean leave bruises... you can still smack them around a bit as long as you dont "abuse" them.  Also if you are in any way technologically inclined you can disable your DVD player from playing anything with a rating you dont want same with TV stations, internet, etc.

The problem is lazy/bad parents and anyone who says otherwise is kidding themselves and unwilling to take personal responsibility for their situation.

It's a great show!

And it's on late so kids shouldn't watch it. If parents can't exercise basic parental control their kids should be taken off them and raised by the state.

Parents are stupid.  They let their kids watch anything as long as they don't bother them.

Oh, is that right? Does this mean that we're going to have a bunch of kids carrying around their feces in a box and smearing it all over their bathroom mirrors during Xmas time as "some sort of Jewish tradition"? ;)

What's your favorite episode? My favorite one of all time is "Scott Tinerman must die" followed by "Osama bin Laden has farty pants" and "The mystery of the urinal deuce" as close seconds.

I don't really watch cartoons and the program should be for adults.

My brothers watch it though ;)

I think that most television programming is terrible and evil. South Park is no exception.

I've heard many Orthodox Rabbis call it "silly-vision" and some strict Yeshivas will not accept a student into a school if the parents watch a lot of television.

A lot of the news has a tremendous amount of lashon hora and sexual/graphic violence is on almost every channel. Plus, the brain-washing on television is obvious. They tell you what to wear, what to eat, what's funny, what's good, what's bad... don't think for a moment that it doesn't effect you. The people we hang around are the people we become like (from the Torah) and that applies to actors on television (some of whom we'd NEVER invite into our homes).

Parents that raise their kids on TV will be responsible to Hashem for the great wrong that they are doing. We have such a short time on this earth and we would waste it on television? We are entertaining ourselves to death.

If you put that garbage into your brain, then you will have a very tough time.

Anybody old enough to remember the Go Go Gophers Show?

The two Gopher Indians who always foiled Colonel Kidd Cayote (Teddy Roosevelt caricature) and the Sergeant (Garry Cooper caricature).

It was a hoot!

It doesn't build one up spiritually, that's for sure. It's not something that contributes to moral behavior either. I can't really excuse watching it, but I keep my core values and if it gets too bad, I don't watch the rest of the episode. There were a couple of them that I simply couldn't watch because they were too bad, but some of them are very funny, like the manbearpig episode that makes fun of Al Gore.

It is just a silly TV show, and mostly it is funny.
Sorry the Scott Tinnermun episode was the worst, if that was the first one I saw I probably would have never watched it again.
As a parent I did not let my children watch it until they were old enough, in my opinion, not thiers. All a parent needs to do is say NO, and stick to it, that easy.
The Sh*t and vomit humor I can do without but the the un PC humor is great.
Not only Judaism has been made fun of but also Christianity, islam, Mormonism, Scientology, American indians, Homosexuals, Blacks, Puerto Rican guys from the Bronx, Jesus, Mohammad, Moses, Joseph Smith, Buddha, Enviromentalists, Hillary Clinton, Al Gore, Mel Gibson, the Bloods and Crips, and on and on.
Best episodes:
With apologies to Jesse Jackson
Trapped in the closet
Two days before the day after tomorrow
Cartoon Wars
This is what mormons really believe
Cartman does Special Olympics
Casino Indians
Timmy and Jimmy joining the Crips
Sorry, not sure of the exact titles of some of the episodes I mentioned.
Very often gross and disgusting, yes. Though very often funny if you can get past that.

They're my favorites too, Matt Stone and Trey Parker are equall opurtunity mockers not PC self haters at all, keep the kids away, remember this is comedy not role model, and all we'll be well. O0 Even JTF-ers need relax. ;)

That kind of thinking works very similar to this type of thinking:

"Come on... it just makes fun of G-d a little. I don't watch the parts that make fun of G-d or have little kids cussing or where they say really perverted things."

Or how about on a different topic where I've heard excuses before...

"Come on... it's only light porn. It's just a silly DVD. It's not really that hardcore! It's for adults and it doesn't hurt anyone. You don't have to watch it."

Or...

"Come on... it's only a Palast¡n¡an. Not all of them are trying to be suicide bombers. Just because a few of them bomb stuff doesn't mean you can't be friends with one."

It really makes me wonder. Are you guys really that lost?

EVIL is EVIL no matter what excuses you want to make or no matter how much you've been brainwashed. Just because it has an on and off switch or just because it's funny or just because adults watch it... doesn't make it right. It just makes you intellectually dishonest.

When your life is over and Hashem asks you what you did with your time... you are not going to be able to lie to G-d. Trust me... this scares me for my own life.

The Simpsons is vastly superior.

I used to be a fan of the Simpsons - but they are a bit boring compared to SP.

South Park is the GREATEST show of all time. My favourite episodes are

"The Passion of the Jew"
"A latter to heaven"
"Do the Handicapped go to Hell?" double episode that picks off were the movie left off.
