Four things I'll bet you didn't know about Martin Luther King
and some comments:
1. His name wasn't Martin Luther. It was Michael.
It was decided Martin Luther had a more prominent
ring to it, so he went by that. He never legally
changed his name. To this day, he lived and died as
Michael King
2. While working on his dissertation for his
doctoral degree at Boston University, he heavily
plagiarized from another author who had done
research on a subject similar to King's. An
academic committee later found that over half of
Kings work was plagiarized, yet would not revoke
his doctorate degree. King was dead by this time,
and the committee ruled that revoking the title
would serve no purpose. It was also discovered
that King's famous I HAVE A DREAM speech was also
not his own. He stole it from a sermon by Archibald
Carey, a popular black preacher in the 1950's.
3. King was under FBI surveillance for several years
(until he died) due to his ties with communist
organizations throughout the country. King accepted
money from the organizations to fund his movements.
In return, King had to appoint communist leaders to
run certain districts of his SCLC (Southern Christian
Leadership Conference), who then could project their
communist ideas to larger audiences. A federal judge
in the 60's ruled that the FBI files on King links to
communism to remain top-secret until 2027. Senator
Jesse Helms appealed to the Supreme Court in 1983 to
release the files, so the bill in the Senate to create the
Martin Luther King Federal Holiday could be abolished.
He was denied.
4. One of King's closest friends, Rev. Ralph Abernathy,
wrote a book in 1989 in which he talked about King's
obsession with white prostitutes. King would often use
church donations to have drunken sex parties, where he
would hire two to three white prostitutes, occasionally
beating them brutally. The FBI agents who monitored
King have also reported this. King was married with
four children.

memorials to honor this man, a man that most of the
world views as a saint for his role in the civil rights

All of our great presidents share President's Day.
Yet King -- a man who was a phony, a cheater, a traitor,
and a sexual degenerate gets a day of his own.
I have a big problem with that. I am simply trying to
point out that: The vast majority of people are sorely
mistaken about Michael King; and Reverse
discrimination is blatantly obvious everywhere you
look today.
Have you been watching the news lately? President
Bush just got himself in some hot water when he spoke
out against the University of Michigan for giving black
applicants precedence over more qualified white
applicants. Now Jesse Jackson, the NAACP, and other
black leaders are trashing him, without a doubt
planning how they can use this.
Think about that - Bush just made a stand for equal
human rights, but lo and behold -- in this case the
blacks didn't want to be treated as equals.
Make up your own minds, but I feel like I belong to
one of the more abused ethnic groups in this
country today.
Can I do anything about it? Absolutely not. If I dare
speak out I'll get labeled a racist, harassed by the
media, subsequently lose my job, and never be
able to show my face in public again.
But what I can do is send this e-mail to as many
people I know in hopes that when you're watching the \
evening news on Martin Luther King Day, and you
observe our politicians falling all over themselves
to be filmed in a black church, you'll keep these
above facts in mind.

MLK's dream has already started. Because of his dream there are interracial couples unafraid of what the rest of society thinks of their union. Because of his dream, black children and white children build lasting friendships despite the colors of their skin. Because of his dream, blacks can vote and no longer have to use separate restrooms, drink from separate water fountains, or enter in the back "colored entrances" of restaurants and other establishments. Yes, there is a lot of work to be done in the black community but guess what, no amount of your vitrol will stop blacks who want something out of life from seeking it out.

Please, someone make mention of the white people who are on welfare in America...wait..I just did. Is their rate as high as that of minorities? Which would mean that Europeans would have had no need to come here, steal the land from the Natives who were here FIRST. The way our country was established, if it could be played out on film, would be something like "The Lion King". The premise of that story is that every part of our world has a circle of life. In this film, minorities would be the tiny fish in the pond, the black slave traitors would play the part of the sharks (because they aided in selling Africans). The white man (THEN) would play the part of the King of the jungle only with not enough honor to fill a thimble. You have a lot to learn. First of all, like I said in the beginning of this response, you don't have a right to tell people who they can or can't be in a relationship with. Point blank! And how did you come up with the obsurdity that a couple comprised of two different cultures/ races are racist? The entire point of them getting together is to LOVE each other...not to hate each other. Are you threatened by the love of a couple who share different racial backgrounds? Sure sounds like it. And FYI, there are many interracial relationships that have stood the test of time even during times of racial unfairness. That's untrue. Everything you said. People DO make things up in the media all of the time. Because they are protected by the Freedom of Speech, they can say what they want. When it comes down to people actually going to court because what they said came into question (whether true or not), they could go to jail for purjury. Freedom of opinion and speech. Independent media has to count on some kind of lie so that people will start to believe them.
I would check my sources' reputation if I were you. This problem is not a local school board issue. I can tell you that my school board is made up of people who agree with me. I know most of them. They are members of my community.
The pressure to appear PC, fear of being sued, mandates coming down from up high - is much bigger then any I can exert.

Like I said before, bullcat. There are plenty of things I wish some school systems would change...the way they teach about diversity is one of them. Would it make you happy if Jewish history was taught for a month also or would you just like black history month to be erased from the books altogether? I thnk talking about everyone's history in America is a great thing. I said before that when my daughters learn about Anne Frank every year, I dont' balk, read right along with them. When they learn about Hanukkah, I'm right there with them. We both care about our children in our own ways. i wouldn't make your child get along with black kids if you don't want them to. That's your parental right. I'll lobby to have all ethnicities celebrated but I won't ever be against black history being discussed in school.

I don't want my child to choose her friends based on their skin color. That also means that she doesn't have to befriend people who she doesn't like...just because they are different from her. I try to teach her to have judgment when choosing friends. Shared values and compatibility are very important. Especially when choosing a mate.
She has friends from many backgrounds and :o races...so please don't imply that I am teaching her to be racist. We don't judge ourselves based on the number of friends we have of different colors. We just count the number of good people in our lives and are grateful ;)

When you hear of the fire hoses and dogs used against the blacks, they keep on showing the same film over and over. If this was happening all over why isn't there any other film of the police, who did nothing but preserve order, doing the same thing all over the country. More lies from the media.

The "Order" came about when the blacks wouldn't stop walking or singing. There was no violence until the police showed and attacked the blacks with brute force, dogs and fire hoses.

And thanks for the updated info on riots. I never agreed with most of it, unless people were trying to find food. I think stealing a tv while the entire town is flooded is stupid.
