Long-distance telephone marriages can be dialled up under sharia law and then used to sponsor loved ones into Canada, Muslim leaders say.
Two Muslim leaders have told the Toronto Sun telephone marriages are permissible under Islamic law and require two witnesses and imams here and abroad to conduct the vows, which may have the bride in Pakistan and the groom in Toronto.
Once completed, a marriage certificate is obtained abroad legitimately in Muslim countries and can be used by the groom for sponsoring his new wife to Canada, one Mississauga imam said.
Mumtaz Ali, of the Canadian Association of Muslims, said he conducted a telephone marriage between a student in Toronto and his about-to-be wife in India.
"He was a university student and couldn't leave," Ali said. "It is a civil contract and the vows were conducted over the phone."
A marriage certificate was obtained and the student was able to sponsor his wife to Canada, he said.
The vow takes less than five minutes and a dowry is exchanged to seal the ceremony, Ali said....

If Canadians are dumb enough not to care about their own laws, why should anybody else.

Is Canada this desperate for population that they would allow this sort of madness? Someone is asleep at the switch here since no government that has a grasp on running its country correctly would allow this sort of garbage. This is a train wreck in the making.

There has been a long time this Socialist, dialectical, opinion promulgated via Canadian Academia, mainly through economics, finance and the business related "Humanities" courses demanding Canada needs more people to become economically competative with the rest of the world: "Globalism", "Free Trade" and "Multiculturalism".
Of course no Western nation would ever be able to compete with these despotic turd world nation, even with ten billion people living here. One cannot compete with another when the other is without rules. It would be akin to hunting for a polar bear unarmed. Canada would pay their employees $20-60.00/hr while India, for example, the worker receives no "human righs", "workers rights", "safety standards" etc. with $.05/hr. It is impossible. Even if Canada, or the United States tried to compete on "Quality" and "Technology" it will still end up a zero sum game. Whatever technologies are developed in the West, the turd world nations buy it, steal it or are given it: Bill Clinton's Chinagate for example.
In summation, once the major manufacturing base in the West flees for the cheep turd world, what's left? Nothing but low paying service sector jobs and the few staple resource jobs like mining.....but soon they will be only hiring "guest workers" and Walmarts...

It might appear that way, but down here in the U.S.A. "Ol-Whitey" is steaming mad, losing his property and livelihood, and very heavily armed.
Meanwhile, Liberals don't believe in having guns, and wouldn't know how to use one even if they did own one.
When "push comes to shove", "Ol-Whitey" will be standing on the top of the heap.

Oh how things are different to the South. Canada is mostly disarmed. A country where the degenerates are not doing the crimes but the "guns" or the "suv".
