This is an article about Muslims not having proper places to pray in Spain. The Spanish know how to deal with these radicals.
The mosque shortage stems partly from the lack of resources common to any relatively poor, rapidly growing immigrant group. But in several places, Muslims trying to build mosques have also met resistance from communities wary of an alien culture or fearful they will foster violent radicals.
Distrust sharpened after a group of Islamists bombed commuter trains in Madrid in March 2004, killing 191 people, and in several cities, local governments, cowed by angry opposition from non-Muslims, have blocked Muslim groups from acquiring land for mosques.
The North Street prayer hall faced opposition from the outset. Marta Roigé, head of the local neighborhood association, said residents tried to block it five years ago by renting the garage themselves, but backed down after the landlord started a bidding war. They have since sued the local council to close it down on the basis that it is a health and safety hazard.

Even going way back to the days of El Cid in the 11th Century the Spanish have always been proud from defending there national boarders from the muslims (back then they were known as the moors)...
I have respect for this great nation on this issue however historically at times they have been quite anti-semetic and still exist today in areas which were once heavily populated by serphadic jews way back before the time of the spanish inquisition... now in towns like Toledo all that is left are a few buildings from what use to be a thriving metropolis...

Yes but in all fairness the Spanish of today have nothing to do with that. Also take into account that Spain wasn't even an unified country when the Queen kicked out the Muslims and Jews. Places like Catalonia, Galicia, Basque Country, etc all had their little kingdoms and had nothing to do with the explusion of Jews.

Unified country or no they are still the same people and even today we see anti-semitic sledging in Toledo where many of the Synagogues stand some with graffiti and vandalized, today long after the jews expulsion took place in the spanish inquisition many jews are afraid to go back which is why there are only a few thousand jews who still live in a country which once hosted hundreds and thousands and even millions of jews way back when they were accepted into spanish society

This is true, I must say. And I hear that modern day Spaniards aren't any worse.
Very shameful pasts, and its worrisome that even today, the illegal immigrants who come from the Spanish conquered "New World" are VERY anti-Semitic themselves.
Still, I like how they don't let mooslims build their cursed mosques!
Yes, but I'll give some of them credit for some wanting to throw the muSSlims out.

The South of Spain is getting islamised very rapidly nowdays. This story is nothing to triumph about. It is only a small victory.

Spain is funny in spite of anti-semitism which i did'nt see, 8 out of 10 will tell you they have Jewish ancestry

They are absolutely not the same people. Please don't even try to lump up a Spaniard with a Basque or a Catalan. They are not the same people. Different people, different language, different culture.
This article is based on Muslims in Catalonia who can't build a mosque because of the growing opposition there.
