Do you think that parents should be allowed to discipline there kids the way they want? Just like in the 30's and 40's when if you talked back to your parents they whooped you so bad you could not sit .I think they should because you need to instill fear into your children so they will think twice before doing something bad. I got my butt whooped when ever i did something wrong i turned out fine.
I would like to hear your thoughts on this subject.

Great topic.
99% of spanking/wipping is fine.. and only the wackos from the left would believe the state should intervene and outlaw spanking.
HOWEVER.. there is that 1%, (w/ Muslims its probably closer to 10%) that have absurdly cruel and unusual punishment, ie keeping kids in chained up, bludgeoning, stoning, torturing.. etc. The government absolutely has a duty to protect children from this type of cruelty,.

What Muslims do to their kids are wrong but i think people should be allowed to whoop their kids butts when they do something bad

A true story.
A teen was brought in to a hospital brain dead - the result of an overdose.
After having partied too much he slept at a friends house.
In the morning he wasn't able to be aroused.
He was then thrown into the backseat of a car.
Driven to...the house of another friend.
Thought I would say the ER of a hospital right? ;)
The other friend saw him blue and unresponsive.
Called 911.
Brain dead in his hospital room...6 million (a slight exageration) obnoxious teens are crying over his bed.
I wonder how many did drugs with him or bought drugs from him.
No Mom to be found. Father not in the picture.
Not one kid will learn a lesson from his death - which is imminent.
Half those rude - immoral teens could have used a good whooping when they were younger.
Don't you think?
Maybe even a few of their parents too.

All I see nowadays is spoilled and bratty kids running around with very little concern that there are consequences for their misbehavior

I think there is a fine line between discipline and out right abuse. If a child happens to be doing something wrong if he has been behaving badly I do not see anything wrong with a whap on the behind. If you let them run a muck and constant fear of this crap of "child abuse" on a simple discipline then you have unruley growing up to become unruley.

No one should abuse their children in the name of discipline - that is for sure.
Yet - parents are not doing their kids any favors if they don't teach them to realize the consequence of bad behavior.
It might even result in their or someone elses untimely death.

A child needs parental guidence cause they do not know any better when they are very young and I see nothing wrong with a scolding or a tap on the behind if they get out of line.. It is one thing to correct them when they behave bad, another when it is pure violence. And real child abuse should never be tolerated

look how people acted in the early 1900 They got there butts whooped all the time by there parents and they were respectful people everyone now a days needs a good butt whooping
