Congress still has to lift their own ban, and something tells me, they aren't going to do it!

FOR THE UMPTEENTH TIME,

DRILLING FOR OIL IN AMERICA OR OFFSHORE WILL HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO EFFECT ON OUR FUEL AVAILABILITY OR ITS PRICING.

WHY?

BECAUSE THE OIL COMPANIES ARE SUPRANATIONAL CORPORATIONS; NOT AMERICAN CORPORATIONS.

THEY WILL USE ALL OIL GAINED TO SELL TO OUR ENEMIES IN CHINA FOR A PRICE WE COULD NEVER AFFORD.

IN ORDER FOR US TO BENEFIT FROM ANY SUCH DRILLING, THE OIL COMPANIES DRILLING WOULD HAVE TO BE NATIONALIZED...OWNED BY AND FOR THE U.S. FEDERAL GOVERNMENT.

AND THAT...MY FRIENDS....WOULD BE WHAT'S CALLED SOCIALISM.

LOOKS LIKE YOU'RE JUST OUT OF LUCK, DOESN'T IT?

EVEN IF YOU BADMOUTH THE DEMS FOR THE LAW THAT GEORGE H.W.BUSH THE REPUBLICAN SIGNED INTO EFFECT, AND EVEN IF YOU CAN GET CONGRESS TO APPROVE, YOU ONLY HELP THE COMMUNIST CHINESE TO OUTPRODUCE US.

HOW DO YOU LIKE ME NOW?

I'm not an economist, but I'm pretty sure that by the law of supply and demand, the increased production of oil in the US will increase the overall oil supply and bring down prices.  A decrease in the demand is probably completely out of the question, so an increase in the supply would be the next best route.   Yes, the companies can sell anywhere, and not necessarily to American citizens, but having more oil in the overall market will bring prices down, won't it?

I'm not sure I understand why you are saying the industry would have to be come nationalized.  Of what benefit would that be?

At least we won't be making our enemies rich enough to buy us out. Look at who just bought 75% of the Chrysler building.

Well looks like the Florida beaches are going to look like [censored], damnit. Why can't they just drill in Alaska or something?

Well looks like the Florida beaches are going to look like excrement, damnit. Why can't they just drill in Alaska or something?

At least it won't be the sub-human type of excrement that you see at West Palm Beach. I'm not like Ted Kennedy where I talk about alternative energy and then complain about the construction of windmills because they obstruct my view. We won't have dirty beaches anyway unless there is a major disaster.
