WASHINGTON - The House on Monday defeated a $700 billion emergency rescue for the nation's financial system, ignoring urgent warnings from President Bush and congressional leaders of both parties that the economy could nosedive into recession without it.

It was not passed by a vote of 228 to 205
A lot of Republicans voted against the it because of Nancy Pelosi's speech

I do not know they spoke with republicans who voted and they said her speech changed there minds

I heard there are a LOT of people really really angry at the Republicans right now.... 8)

I am glad I am not rich and have all my assets in the stock market right now...
