Ignorance was a big problem.  I think a bigger problem is that these idiots were actually deceived by Leftist elites with no moral standards who actually agree with things like wealth redistribution.

Yes.  Clearly some of the responders were victims of media bias/media blackout, and would have probably voted differently had it not been for the media.
Others were more convinced of their side, and would not have believed anything they did not want to believe.
