So i'm looking to try out skydiving, wonder if anyone here has done it before? What is the chance of failure on a shoot? How do I get involved? How much?

I have a friend who is into it. She told me that the first few jumps you to with someone else. It's not an inexpensive hobby. I hear it's relatively safe. But what is safe anyway? You can get trampled to death if you are an employee at Walmart! For sure it is safer than cigarette smoking and it won't make your breath stink, though it might make your shorts stink. :::D

As long as it doesn't make anybody else's head/hair stink.

Yeah I was just wondering how common it is for a chute to fail? I know you have a reserve chute but I seen a few accidents on youtube including one guy whos chute didn't open and he fell 5000 feet and actually survived by landing in some trees, broke pretty much every bone in his body but he survived.
Here's the video

I wouldn't do something like that. I think it's foolish. If God gave you your life is it really your right to put yourself in that much danger?

That's why I'm asking the risk factor how common it is. Everything has a risk Ruby, even driving a car you have more chance dying in a car than by a firearm or any other means. I scuba dive and there is so much that can go wrong, but we take precautions and have buddies in the event something goes wrong.
Even flying, if you fly anywhere, it's also a risk like skydiving because if the engines fail, you are at mercy of gravity.
If the risk is very low and it's pretty safe, I would love to do skydiving as it looks very enjoyable, people that do it tell me that there's no other sensation like it.
