Title: the non bailout of the automobile industries might be an opportunity
Post by: Dr. Dan on December 11, 2008, 10:16:51 PM
I was thinking about the advantages of this...By not bailing these companies out, cars will either become cheaper or less people will buy them. As a result gas prices go down.  But alas! If the government does take over the automobile companies, because theya re so liberal, they might force the creation of non oil using automobiles.  I don't know, what do you guys think?

Regardless of what happens... the car companies cannot pay their creditors... so if nothing happens... they go through Chapter 11... which many people (Including myself) think is a better alternative.   The argument for the bailout... is that Chapter 11 precedings would take too long, and they cant afford this... but I think thats a load of propoganda from the Unions and the socialists.  The truth is that Chpt 11 will allow the Companies to better remove the shackles of the unions.

we shall see.  The real disaster is coming in California in about 3 months.
