I was telling Bullcat last night how my whole chest is sore and how I don't have much of a voice. So I went to the doctor, who said my lungs sound quite noisy, and that I have bronchitis. She prescribed some antibiotics but said I don't have to really take them right away unless I either get worse or don't get better.
What a time to be sick!

Bronchitis is rough!
I'm glad you went to the doctor Lisa.
Get some rest and keep yourself well hydrated.
It's an easy time of the year to get sick.
I hope you get better soon.
-
That is very sad.
Get plenty of rest.
Get plenty of exercises as well.
I find that exercise makes you feel much better than just laying there which makes you feel sick.
-
So sorry to hear you are Ill :'(
i will pray that you are better soon

Sorry to hear your under the weather Lisa. I had a bad cold a few weeks ago and got rid of it in almost one day. I went to the store and bought a big bottle of E&M Brandy and sipped at it most of the night Thursday before last. By Friday about a third of it was gone and so was the cold symptoms. That Friday I spent the entire day outside cleaning up the yard. BY Sunday the cold was gone. Bronchitis is far worse than a cold but I often wonder how much better some of the meds really are then a good stiff drink. Anyway I hope you feel better without resorting to the meds.

Thanks CJD, Bullcat, Angry Chinese Kahanist and Daleksfearme.
ouch, that's alot of people to have thanked.
what if 20 or 30 people had responded.. You wouldn't thank each individually, would you?
It still wouldn't help your bronchitis.
-
Oh nooo, Ive had that a few too many times....
Be sure to get a humidifier, especially for when you are sleeping, it will help you to heal faster. And don't forget Vick's Vapo Rub, oh these things I highly recommend, if nothing else.

::) q_q_ - I think you should try some of that E&M brandy yourself.
It might help loosen you up a bit. :celebrate:
:P
Do you have to correct everybody...in every thread? 8;)
I'm just saying. ;D

Exercise uses the lungs , so don't be so sure about "plenty of exercise".
Another issue with exercise , is in the winter, if a joint is a bit stiff, then you don't want sudden impacts on it either , so even feet should be warm. And when ill, the body is fighting, you need rest..
She isn't sick from doing nothing.

it says aerobic exercise can be beneficial..
However, remember, we live in a culture that thinks exercise is always beneficial, simply because benefits outweigh costs, and it's an easy thing to ease the obese culture, and they overlook all issues with it.. Even running can cause heart problems. (or knee problems if like many people you walk with feet a bit overpronated, or are a bit flat footed - some don't know it but they are. So there are issues).. It may be that in early stages of bronchitis exercise should be avoided, that's just a guess. But don't fool yourself into thinking it's always beneficial. I recently saw a program where people with serious sports injuries like broken bones were going into hospital and the staff were saying those were "good injuries" because at least it means they are exercising!! That's the crazy mentality nowadays. You have to be aware of the risks. Exercising when ill could be incredibly silly. I'm sure Lisa knows that though.

I'm so tired now, that I could probably fall asleep right away. But then again, I'd probably wake up at midnight and not be able to go back to sleep. So I'm trying to stay up.

Feel better Lisa

Oh, Lisa that is too bad and bronchitis is rough, what is that Jewish remedy chicken soup? Try to relax, I know the weather over there is brutal. And I hope you feel better sweetie. I would give you my grandmother's remedy but it is vile to take but works! When I feel something like this is coming she use to chop onions, with rum, water and sugar into a bowl, and let the liquid mix and you drink a table spoon of that every few hours it will help clear your lungs. It is vile stuff but it does the trick.
Feel better sister.

Lisa I'll pray that you'll feel better.

Thanks everyone.

Refuah shleima, Lisa!
-
Very sorry to hear. Some family members of mine also have a very nasty cold bug right now. I will be praying for a speedy recovery.

Bronchitis sucks! I wouldn't wait to start taking the antibiotics. It is unusual for people to defeat this type of infection quickly on their own. On the bright side, you can stay in bed, drink tea or soup, and read. I hope you get well soon.

Don't go boxing or mountain climbing.
A few stretches.
