Title: My stepfather passed away this morning
Post by: The One and Only Mo on February 23, 2009, 02:47:48 PM: This morning at 6:13 my stepdad died. I'm sad. Help me.

You and your Mom will always will have great memories of him. When you need a lift, you can go back to Chaim's thoughts about your Stepfather on yesterday's Ask JTF program. I'm very optimistic that your Stepfather is now in a better place.

Post by: SW on February 23, 2009, 04:57:07 PM: My grandpa died last year. It was 3 am. One day ago I talked to him. He smiled and stuff like that. He was in hospital that time because he didn't felt good. He always said he won't go to the hospital. At 4 am my grandma called us. I didn't really realized it because I just woke up. But when I was in the hospital I cried very hard. He was there in his bed, closed eyes, pale and with no life. It was a terrible day. But I know he is in heaven now!
Your stepfather is also in heaven now! G-d is with him! G-d is with my grandpa!
They will protect us! They have a eye on us.

My heart is with you! Always remember that he is not really gone! His soul is now in heaven and in your heart

I am so very sorry to hear this. My deepest condolences to you and your loved ones. As several of us have said, he is in an infinitely better place than we are.

Remember we are all one big family here [which is why I refer to my fellow JTF'ers as brothers and sisters] and we are all here for you to get through this loss. Remember, Hashem loves you and will always be with you and your stepfather.

I am so sorry to hear this, Mo.

But remember that just as you and your mother love your stepfather, G-d also loves him. Your stepfather has now entered the real world, the world of truth and justice and love and righteousness. The physical world that we live in is like a passing dream, an illusion. The real world is the kingdom of Hashem.

Take care of your mother. Be extra kind to her, and reassure her that your stepfather is in a much better place. Reassure her that Hashem loves your stepfather, and that He will be good to your stepfather.

No, the pain NEVER goes away. It lessens with time, but never goes away. You will find ways to ease your pain, I hope you have others there to help you get through this, it's very difficult, I won't lie to you.
