Do any Forum members have some idea about when the stock market will crash? I am curious and need opinions. Obama is creating such a diaster financially and he is even sending 900 Million dollars to the terrorist Palestinians while we suffer here at home.

Might be a little longer than we think--oil prices are starting to head up again.

Well, people may not be able to afford high gas prices and more jobs will be lost. I say in less than one year. That is just my guess.

I personally feel it should have happened by now, but that's just me...I'm really surprised it has not yet...
-
Please define "crash". I mean, what number does it have to reach for it to be considered a "crash"?
It seems to me that it's crashing right now. But I know what you mean. I just don't know the number.

Hi Hanna...thanks for the reply. I am surprised too, so far I have seen it drop dangerously low 2 times. A few more times it may hit the Hell button.

Yes......
During the great depression, my grandparents went and lived in a cabin in the woods on the top of a mountain and shot bears for food. I might do the same thing, I dunno yet.
That's how they survived the great depression.
They were quite resilient.
;D
The way the general attitude of the people are, I am afraid too, there will be rioting in the streets. I can see that coming, also...(didn't we talk about this before?) I think we did....
???
If I had the money I would have bought the cave/house that couple has for sale somewhere, it was posted on yahoo in an article this past week, I am sure it is over a million dollars though..
-
It already did...
-
I don't think it would get much lower.
-
Well, IY''H Mashiach will come before it happens.

I think that the stock market will not crash. I dont see any reason why this should happen. I hope that the market goes up a lot soon. My stocks are doing just fine right now.
I really dont know what is wrong with people here wishing that the market will crash. Do you realize how many people will be hurt? Obviously your hatred of Obama far exceeds your compassion for the righteous people who rely on their money. Every day I pray that the market will go up, so I am against those praying it will go down. I have faith that Hashem will do what he has to.
May the market go up once again as it did last year.

This is very tough to predict. I'll guess it will get close to its bottom in the fall, but who knows. The economy may be in a rut for several years. I think the more pressing question is when will the real estate market hit bottom.

What stocks do you own?

What stocks do you own?
I only own stock options in the company I work for. We were up to 70 last year {when I joined the company they were @ 7}... At the end of last year we fell to 9.... We are back up to around 13/14 today... My company seems to be very well positioned in the market and several analysts are recommending buying it..
If you are interested in the company I will send you a PM and tell you the stock ticker for my company...

Looks like a good company. Wow, it was pushed up to 70, that's pretty extraordinary.
I will say that its always good to own your own company. Also.. you might want a bit of diversification as well.

Last year I sold my GE stock at 32 dollars per share, 2 months later it went down to 4 dollars a share. I was very relieved that I sold it before it went way down. My mortgage payments swallowed the stock profits. :'(

Yes, GE gets (or used to get) most of its profit from its financial activities.
I told everyone in my family to drop all their stocks after I saw the first banks having to emergency borrow last April, which was so early in the economic downturn. Everyone listened to me except my Dad... but at least he went into something half and half. We are all in CD's but I am getting worried.. we may move out of those if things start to look historically catastrophic.

I have money in the market through my 401k but I want to see things crash. They have in many ways but it should get worse. The reason is that if the economy does very well, Obama will get all the credit. He will then be able to do what he wants and will get a blank check from the Aemrican people. One of the top things on his agenda will be to sell out Israel among many other evil things. Israel is in serious trouble anyways but if Obama has a high approval rating he will feel more bold to meet with Iran and make it very difficult for Israel to bomb them. As we all know, Israeli leaders care alot about American opinion, even if it started to be anti-semitic.
In regards to America, if Obama sees short term or even limited success in his plans it gives credibility to everything he does. Aborton, gun control, larger government, more illegal immigration, higher taxes, decling morality, peace in the face of real threats among many other things. I think Obama could have some success because he has billionaires and companies like Microsoft and Hyatt behind him. Obama is the "first in the door." He wants to pave the way for future beasts of all types to get power in highest office. It may pave the way for a even more radical or G-d forbid an openly Muslim president. He wants to lend credibility to failed ideas of marxism, black power and Islamic philosophy. If America can falsely point to a successful black socialist period, then in the future even more failed ideas will be proposed.
If he succeeds then in the long term, America and Israel fail.

The same could be said about Bush. The Economy was the best in my lifetime during Bush... Does Bush get credit for such a great economy? I was worth $2M dollars a year ago. I dont think this theory is valid because the President is not really responsible for the stock market. Clinton cut the deficit the most of any president in recent history and yet it didn't secure a win for Gored.
I dont wish the economy any disruption.

Also, I would lose every dollar I have if it meant that the idealogy of Islam and the left was completely defeated. If that happened,we would then have unmeasured levels of real prosperity, not fake housing market or internet bubbles created by black slums and Wall Street criminals. Imagine if morality became implemented in America and Israel became a religious state. If schwartze culture was frowned upon or cast out of America. If illegal immigrants were sent home and all former employers were jailed. If the hyper sexual culture was destroyed and outlawed. If Islamic countries were destroyed in every way or the people left Islam completely because it was proven an evil way of thinking. If America had low tax pro business policies that fostered competitiveness and large tycoons like Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates lost everything. America, the West and Israel would be unstoppable.
That's real change I could believe in.

Its not about whether Bush had anything to do with the economy... its about whether people 'perceive' that he had something to do with it. I can give you example and example. When the economy crumbles.. the party in power ALWAYS is replaced... its the same around the world. Give me ONE example in a democracy where this ISNT the case??
BTW... give Newt credit for surplus (We all forget that he was the one who helped shut down the government until Clinton could come up with a budget that was drastically lower).

Yes! Everyone forgets about Newt and the Republicans Contract with America. They held Clinton's feet to the fire and in the end it made him look very good.

That's a lot of money.
I have problems with Bush but Bush should get credit for putting through tax cuts in the first two years of his presidency when everyone was saying it would fail. They said there wasn't enough money and the economy prospered from his decision. Even McCain turned around on tax cuts. What got us into the current mess was the Community Reinvestment Act that Bush and other Republicans warned could lead to disaster. The Democrats like Barney Frank and the well lobbied Chris Dodd are the ones who wanted no oversight over a criminal opening of the financial gates. Presidents aren't all powerful but they do have major influence on economic policy. If they create a burden for business like Obama is doing with his new budget then the president can have disastrous effect on the economy and stock market. Also, I noticed the markets crashed in October when they realized we were going to have a Muslim communist president.

That was the last fiscally conservative thing he did... and from then on... all he did was spend. he NEVER vetoed any of the porkfilled spending bills, many of which... even Mccain voted against.
He was a dangerous spender... and he should have used his power to reduce spending... but he didn't because he was so busy appeasing the pork-loving congress, to get his way with the war in Iraq.
But obviously.. he is 100x better than the bankrupt inducing Obama!!!

It crashed already in the Panic of '08. It's about to rally big time in my opinion, spearheaded by the precious metals stocks. Good luck.

You are right about perception, I think especially it is the case that the one who gets the blame for the economic downturn loses. BUT, the one who fails to come out of the down turn has a fair chance:
Re-elected during recession: FDR in 1936, Ariel Sharon in 2003, Ramsay MacDonald in the UK elected in 06-1929 and reelected 08-1931.

FDR proves my point very well. FDR got elected in Nov 1932... which is coincidentally PRECISELY when the world-wide depression hit its bottom.. and the Dems got a near super majority. And in 1936.... when he was re-elected by a landslide... it looked like everything was on the mend (Which it was happened in the rest of the world). However, in 1937 when we went into a severe second recession. (which the rest of the world did NOT go into), FDR's popularity plummeted, and the GOP took back control of the senate. in 1939, a majority of American's polled said that the New Deal made the depression WORSE, not BETTER. This is something ignored by the left.

Ramsay MacDonald in the UK elected in 06-1929 and reelected 08-1931.
Another PRIME example of what I was talking about.
when the economy collapsed in the UK in 1930... the people PUNISHED the MacDonald's Labour party like never before.
Ramsay stayed in power by forming an akward coalition with the Conservatives (with the urging King George V).
After the vote in 1931, the results were staggering, 470 Conservatives, 68 Liberals, 65 Labour (13 National Labour (MacDonalds party) , and 52 Labour (Not part of National Coalition))
Labour's disastrous performance at the 1931 election was the WORST EVER... since the Labour party started in the UK.

You are right about that, I should have checked the facts better. The Labour won a mere 52 seat (a loss of -252). I was not aware of this odd story (About Ramsey being ousted by his own party and retaining the Prime minister position nonetheless).

In your defense, I am a bit of a 'great depression' expert. I have been obsessed with it since I was a child, and I spend a lot of time teaching it as well. I Always thought it would be neat to actually live through it... and now I am having second thoughts about that. :)

Did you read the book and see the movie Grapes of Wrath? I pray it never happens again. Many years ago my Mother in law told me her parents had to work in the field all day just to put one meal on the table during the great depression. Do you think it is possible we may see the same kind of depression our elders lived through? If so how could that be stopped? Anyone can answer....thank you.

Ramsay MacDonald in the UK elected in 06-1929 and reelected 08-1931.
Another PRIME example of what I was talking about.

Yes and No. Yes, we may see the same unemployment that they went through; It is within the realm of possibility. However, I can't imagine that we would ever live through a famine, unless we go through some sorta apocalypse. I'm not an agricultural expert, but I'd assume that we are far better now at soil conservation and anti-erosion techniques, and if a similar ecological disaster hit, we would be far better prepared.

The economy is being manipulated so that the EuroCommunists are able to grab the system from within and outside. Then the EuroCommunists will be in a position to make a conglomerate with muslonazi's.

Hope it does not crashes in to "The Day After".
