Title: buying stocks?
Post by: Abben on March 02, 2009, 08:29:45 PM
I do not know anything about the stock market. But I see that citi group shares are at $1.20 is it the right time to buy some shares? I think so 'cause the govt will help them out. What does everyone else thinks thanks

Buy real estate, at least then you have something tangible that you truly have control of.

NO NO NO.  Real estate is not even near its bottom.  Trust me on this.  I am 99% sure of this.

As far as stocks... .Im 90% sure it is not near its bottom.   BUT.... if you are in it for the LONG term (>10 years)... these prices are good.

As far as banks... the prices are low... because of the high probability of these banks going bankrupt, and the stocks becoming 0$/share.  If you invest in banks right now... be aware that you are gambling with something that COULD potentially become worth zero.

Buy only if your very young! I may take 30 years to see any increase in your investment. People are not going to flock back to the markets for some time to come after being burned.

thanks for the replies. I do not think citi group will fail. Other banks yes.
