These are very good for self-defence. A bullet is same with a full gas spray bottle. The useful distance is around 5m.

Do you know what the muzzle velocity, will it shoot through an apple or an orange, and how much noise does it make?

I saw a few of these at the local air gun store, but didn't really pay too much attention to them because they were around $200 and I was hoping to buy a real Torkarev instead, but now it looks like that isn't going to happen.

Oh, it actually shoots a gas? I thought it fired a projectile propelled by compressed air. I saw a few fake guns in a local surplus store, that were neither real nor airsoft, and I thought that they were like this, but they turned out to be metal bb guns, so target shooting, I presume.

I've never even heard of a pistol that shoots CS gas before. What do the bullets look like? 9mm PAK or something completely different?

What sort of keywords should I look for to find one of these on eGun, and do I need some sort of permit?

There are many types of the caliber, mine is 9mm PAK. It shoots OC, CS, CN etc gas, and very useful. You can buy it if you are over 18 years old. ;)

Those guns aren't the best and very expensive, it is good for a collection, but for self-defence I wouldn't choose.

I live in Gdansk. I looked in to getting a real gun, but I'm told that the process of acquiring a permit would take several months, and I won't be here for that long.

I want to move to Israel in August, but if that doesn't happen, I'll just go to the US and spend the winter there.

http://www.teszvesz.hu/item626451775_walther_p22_gaz_riaszto_loszerekkel_extrakkal.html

I have to go to Germany soon; I should pick one up there. Fake guns here are expensive; CO2 airguns that in the US would sell for $100 are $400.

We live in Europe! Not America...

European laws are hard. German laws are hard. In America you can buy everywhere a weapon. Not here. We can only buy "toys".  :'(

One day I will buy a real weapon.

Yeah it is a toy

In Germany it's a weapon. A softair is a toy.
That are the German laws. Very hard if you talk about weapons.
For examble a kitchen knife is a weapon. If the knife is longer than 8,5 cm it is a weapon in Germany. Switchblade are also not allowed in Germany.
You need a licence to wear a Gas pistol in German on the streets.
That's Germany...

I agree. I have semi-automatic called Zoraki 914, but that is really good. If I was you, I would buy an Alpha Czech revolver.

What are they made out of, typically? Good metal or bad quality metal and plastic?

I had a look at one today; something Italian, but I do not recall the name. Looked good, like a real gun but for the fact that the barrel was fixed to the frame.

I don't like Italian gas pistols, steel gas pistol is the best. I would buy Alpha 040 very beautiful, or Zoraki 914, by the way I have a CO2 Umarex-Walter pistol, also a copy of its real gun.

Umarex CO2:
(http://www.aceros-de-hispania.com/image/norica/p99-air-pistol.jpg) (for a self-defence is good)

Zoraki 914:
(http://www.daisyfegyverbolt.hu/nagykep/z914ni.jpg) (in the real life it is more beautiful)

ewww plastic is bad because of UV rays that break up plastic and degrade it over time. Yes Glocks are nice but plastic was moreso a method of cutting costs more than anything.

Great website.

ELÖLTÖLTŐS FEGYVEREK (SZABADON TARTHATÓ!) - Are these black power and percussion cap pistols and is a permit necessary?

I notice that he has FEG brand gas pistols listed, and they look great. Do you have any experience with them? How similar are they to the real thing? I had a real FEG High Power for a short period of time, and was impressed by the quality, given what I had paid.

Do you know anything about this one - Keserű Spiáter Micromax zsebrevolver? Is the metal of good quality?

What are these things - ELÖLTÖLTŐS GUMILÖVEDÉKES ÉS "FLÓBERT" FEGYVEREK (SZABADON TARTHATÓ!)? They look like modern cap and ball revolvers.

You can buy it without permit, but you can only use it for sport reasons, and only can buy black power at shooting gallery.
Tell me if you come, and I will go there help for you and translate Hungarian - English. ;) How old are you btw? FEG guns are famous almost like the legendary Colts!

The cap and ball models are available without a permit, but I can only buy black powder at a shooting range?

Depends on the country, you can own firearms in France, Switzerland, Finland, Norway, and I believe Netherlands. I think certain Balkan states are lax depending on the country, Romania I recall had some lax gun laws, but way too many gypsies.

My understanding is that the gun laws here would allow me to buy just about any sort of gun if I passed the licensing process, which would take about a year. No point, as far as I'm concerned; I intend to be in Israel or elsewhere in 3 months.

What's to stop someone from putting a .22lr or .22 short round into one of those flobert guns?
