Title: Gun laws

O.k., I am about to graduate college and I expect to receive a fairly large amount of money from my combined family members. Before I choose a rifle, I need to know something, as I have heard both "yes" and "no"... Is it legal or illegal to own fully automatic weapons in America? I know it is illegal in CA and NY, but I have heard some say that even though we are led to believe all automatics are illegal in this country, they (the Gov) can't really keep you from owning them. Help me out friends!

You need a Federal firearms license  hard to get unless your a member of a Swat team or a Gunsmith you apply to the ATF
