Title: Funny story from my childhood
Post by: ProudAndZionist on June 15, 2009, 05:08:48 PM
I thought I share my little story with you.  ;D

When I was kid, one of my relative moved to Israel to Eilat, and she said Israel is the greatest country and proud be Jew. And that time I thought greatest means the "biggest".

So I thought when I was 8-10 years old that Israel is bigger country than Iran, and that the full Middle East is Israel.  But I was kid! :-[

And my class boss teacher asked us that which country is the biggest on the Middle East, and I answered: Israel, and I was shocked when I saw that it is little country.  :'(

LOL.

Israel is the greatest place in the entire middle east. I think you just need to remember that 'great' doesn't always mean the biggest. Think of the biblical story of young David standing against the giant Goliath. We know that Goliath was a giant, he was biggest. But being big doesn't always mean that you are great. I know this from experience as I work with a number of extremely tall individuals. I do not fear them because they are taller than me, I know that greatness is not always in volume or size. This comparison should bring you some understanding.

I got a teddy bear as a gift that was made in Israel so I named it Shalom. I think I was around 5 when that happened.

When I was a little girl, my Father bought me a puppy.

And, he told me since it's my pet, that I should be the one to name her.
So, I did.
I named her "kelev", which in Hebrew means dog.

My parents tried for some time to talk me out of that name, but I was a pretty stubborn little girl; and I wasn't having any of their suggestions, so, I stuck with the name "kelev".

Only after I grew up, I understood that I named my dog a dog.
Kelev lived with her name for 15 years.

Israel will be not only greatest but also biggest nation in whole Middle East. It is also possible that Israel may itself mean as middle east.

On the west, it should be up to Nile, but on the east I am somewhat confused that whether it should be up to Euphrates or it should be very near to Tehran. The maps of the past and present are clear but the map of the futura is a bit hazy.
