(IsraelNN.com) Attorney General Menachem Mazuz announced Monday that former Prime Minister Ehud Olmert will not be charged with corruption in a case involving Laniado Hospital in Netanya. Olmert was accused of taking a bribe in exchange for assisting the hospital and a number of non-profit organizations in matters involving the Israel Land Administration.

The Movement for Quality Government initiated an investigation into the affair over a year ago. The group accused Olmert of accepting one million shekels from Moshe Reich, a member of the Sanz chassidic community, and of helping Sanz institutions in return.

This is nuts... From what I have heard he was guilty and should have faced the court and answered the charges.

All the fuss around Olmert taking bribes was actual when he was a PM. At that time the ultra-left Israeli legal system and media used this to urge Olmert to retreat from Judea and Samaria (and when he was really beginning to move in that direction, all they became suddenly silent on that issue). But today when he is nothing, they don't give a damn about him and his corruption.

P.S. I am not defending Olmert, he is a leftist and seems to be ready to sell his own mother, let alone the Land of Israel.

This is just one charge they dropped off. But he still expected to be charged of bribery and other crimes.

The Judge of judges will not drop any charges.
