They wanted Israel to retaliate so that EU can express their "outrage". They would probably accuse IDF of trying to kill Catherine Ashton.
The destruction of EU can't come soon enough.

All of us here knew that turning over Gaza was going to be a huge mistake.  It was just too obvious.
