I found the picture on the Associated Press website. Here's the caption:
Rabbi Meir Kahane, right, founder of the militant Jewish Defense League, said that he would try to establish an Israeli settlement in the largest Arab city on the West Bank of the Jordan River. At left is Victor Vancier, executive director of the Committee Against Israeli Retreat (CAIR), joining Rabbi Kahane for a New York news conference, June 8, 1977. (AP Photo/Marty Lederhandler)

That is just an awesome picture. What a great find!

That's a CAIR I wouldn't mind giving money to.

Great Find Moshe!

Look at that baby face on Chaim! Okay, I was 10 at that time so I suppose I had a baby face too! ^-^
-
Thanks, Moshe! Terrific job finding this.
This would be a good thread to make into a sticky.
-
Moshe, this was so sweet. Chaim is so adorable, not at all the 'fearless' person the left wing erav Rav is petrified of
-
LOL no offense but you looked pretty nerdy then Chaim! I think you are much more handsome/manly-looking now.
-
Chaim really hasn't aged a lot. That was 32 years ago but he looks 10 - 15 years older right now. People that don't age too much tend to live long lives.
-
I would never have recognised him.
Did Patches see this already?
-
Is this one for real?

Is this one for real?
Absolutely. The following is the link that the photo and the caption can be found:

Great find! :)
I wonder who used the CAIR acronym first?
-
The hideous CAIR was founded in 1994. Once again the Muslims hijacked from others!

Hell I wasn't even alive at the time.

In this year I was born. :::D

Did Rabbi Kahane have Italian blood?
-
בס''ד
Hahahaha. Thanks Moshe.
Yes, that's me. I laugh because the glasses are not real. I wanted to hide my face somewhat because I was already semi-underground then - during the day, I was very active with press conferences and demonstrations, while during the night, I was setting off bombs against enemies of the Jewish people.
What a great time that was! What memories!
-
I thought it was a mistake when they said he founded CAIR.

WOW! Fantastic.
Isn't it ironic that CAIR is now the name of the islamic fundamentalist lobby group in the US with ties to hamas and moslem brotherhood? Committee Against Israeli Retreat sounds like a great group that would drive the arabs nuts.
-
This was a great find Moshe.
Chaim, obviously Rabbi Kahane was much more fashionable than you...look at the large shirt collar worn outside of his jacket while yours is tucked in. Hey, this was 1977...what were you thinking? :)

You're right. Rabbi Kahane was definitely more fashionable than me.
I just wanted to look more mature. I was 21 years old in this picture. I don't know if you notice, but without my phony glasses, I looked like a 15 year old kid. My main goal was to look older so that people would take our organization CAIR (which was created by Rabbi Kahane) seriously.
-
Chaim looks a bit oilier. I would say he looks 17 or 18.
Hey, wait, where's the Jew-fro? I see strait hair!
-
I would never have recognised him.
Did Patches see this already?
Haha, I just saw it. It's great! I'm gonna put it as my desktop wallpaper.

Which city was that going to be in? Ramallah? Nablus? Too bad he was not able to do that.
-
Wow you looked really different back then Chaim ;D

You think I looked different in that picture? In that picture, I wore phony glasses to hide my face and got a haircut. During most of my youth, I had long hair.

That was really a great disguise. If that article had not put in your old name in that picture, I would never have thought it was you :)
-
I think he Chaim looks good in that picture, even with glasses. He's cool and not even trying. That's what makes it a good picture!

You're right. They can't think of anything original including acronyms.

Yeah, but Clark also wore a fedora.
