Here is an article by Rabbi Moshe Becker about the Rambam's (aka Maimonides) Moreh Nevukhim, the Guide for the Perplexed - the Rambam's massive theological and philosophical treatise - and its relevance today as informative in our foundational beliefs as well as a source of inspiration for today's religious Jew and serious students of Torah.

This is contrary to the general trend we see today where study of the Moreh Nevukhim is neglected in standard yeshiva settings and religious Jewish educational curricula.

It appears that Reb Guttman may disagree with Rabbi Becker on a few points in his description so this adds additional perspective to his article which is worthy of consideration.
