My question is,, what kind of screwed up parents would allow this to take place to their own child to mess him up?

If I had to guess and this is just a guess it's because growing up they saw that the class of people who succeeded in getting male attention were women.  It's just a short, but illogical jump to thtnen thinking, "if I act like a woman, I will then get the attention of men"
