LEBANON, Ohio - A grand jury in Southwest Ohio decided not to escalate charges to a felony for a woman who allegedly posed as a boy to have relations with a minor.
The Warren County Grand Jury met Monday and decided there was not enough evidence to charge 31-year-old Patricia Dye with a felony for her alleged involvement with a 16-year-old Springboro girl.
The charges against Dye remain misdemeanors and the case will stay in juvenile court because of the age of the victim. Dye is charged with corruption of a minor and unlawful sexual conduct.
Dye admitted in an interview with WCPO-TV that she dressed as a teenage boy named Matt Abrams.
Investigators said Dye and the teenage runaway girl had been dating for about six weeks.
The Warren County Prosecutor's Office said it presented the grand jury with new evidence for consideration before they decided to keep the charges as misdemeanors.
Dye's parents said while their daughter and the other girl did share a motel room for a night, there was no sexual relationship.
Dye continues to be held at the Butler County Jail in Hamilton under a $100,000 bond.
