Both are three days per week, but, is Mon- Thurs, Sun, spread too far apart? I just lift moderate weights, just to keep in shape.

Ive heard its essential to spread out the workouts as far apart as you can, to ensure that your muscle groups repair themselves. That why its good to alternate muscle groups.

When I used to workout I did all musclegroups in 2 days 3 times a week, but that was a long time ago.
I'd go for the mon-wed-fri schedule.
