Title: America worse than al-qaeda
Post by: vila on September 14, 2010, 04:11:25 PM
how you say that bin laden and al-qaeda bad but america good? al-qaeda killed three thousand people in nine eleven but america killed 500,000 iraqi children with sanctions of food and medicine. they do this because they say iraq had chemical biological and nuclear weapons but they lied. Iraq had no weapons. America killed more innocent people than al-qaeda did. how you feel if america put israel on sanction of food and medicine and kill 500,000 jewish children?

Innocent Muslim civilian is an oxymoron.  If someone believes in the Quran, that means they are ipso facto committed to jihad against non-Muslims and are therefore a terrorist.  Now we don't support the ground invasion of Iraq because it was no threat and a waste of American lives, and Iran is the country that really should have been bombed.  But make no mistake about it, no "innocent Iraqi Muslims" were killed by Americans.  Americans were murdered by Muslims being true Muslims.

excuse me, they kill 500,000 children!!! how you say that they are not innocent? they babies! they say they had to do sanction because iraq had chemical biological and nuclear weapons and they lied. iraq had no weapons and all those children die for lie.

They did not kill no 500,000 children.  Us worrying about civilian casualties is a victory for the terrorists, that's why Muslims use women and children as human shields as standard protocol.  Muslims care less about their own children than we do.  So you are not excused.

you are confused. i'm talking about sanction in clinton time 1999 with food and medicine. this not about 2003 iraq war. if i include iraq war it is even worse. they did not give babies and children food and medicine because they say that iraq making weapons of mass destruction. where is the weapons.

watch this video which albright admit it was 500,000 was worse than japan atomic bomb deaths

Excuse me Vila, but where is your outrage for all your fellow Muslims that Saddam Hussein had killed in both Iraq, along with the war with Iran.  What about all the Muslims killing each other in Sudan?  I never here a peep out of your people against these atrocities.  Is it OK with you if it's just Muslims killing each other?

Also, Dan Ben Noah is right.  Muslims routinely hide behind the skirts of their women and children rather than fighting like real men.  That's not America's fault.  If you don't want your women and children killed, don't use them as human shields.

Vila, America doesn't owe Iraq anything.  If you don't want countries coming to invade Iraq, you shouldn't expect any food or medicine from them either.  Let Iraq give up Islam and they might be on the road to providing a decent society for themselves.  Islam is what kills their children, not "sins of omission" from the rest of the world.

This sound strange for me. You mean if you give food and medicine you should invade but if you do not invade you should not give food and medicine? No america does not owe iraq but they lied about chemical weapons. You know they did.

Excuse me, I'm talking about sanctions in 1999. They said it was fine to let iraqi children die because they had chemical biological and nuclear weapons. they lied and america says that 500,000 Iraqi children died. I didn't say this. If you ask Iraqis they will say it was around 2 million! Is this a violation of human rights?

Since when is it Americas responsibility to support Iraqis? I don't feel any loss because Iraq was not a friend of America. It is sad that so many died because of the cruel dictator Saddam Hussein {may he rot in hell}.

America doesn't owe Iraq a thing. At least we deposed the wicked Saddam and provided the groundwork for democracy.

Remember that Saddam kicked out all the inspectors before the start of the war in 2003... He was hiding something and he was acting as if he did have WMD... Everyone, not just America, believed that he had WMD... And we know that he did have WMD which he used on the Kurds...

The sanctions that were in place for Iraq, and that are now in place for Iran, have NOTHING to do with starving children (or adults, for that matter) or medication.  What the first poster posits is pure nonsense.  He looks at a flea and misses the monster.

Oh YES they DID have biological weapons! Did you NOT see all the trucks going to Syria to get them OUT of Iraq before the inspections? There was plenty of time to remove them, that's why none were found.

In Iraq's hospitals and slums, and in the homes of many impoverished, once prosperous, families, it is easy to see the human suffering behind child mortality figures released by the United Nations Children's Fund.

Unicef says that children under five in Iraq are dying at more than twice the rate they were 10 years ago.

In Baghdad I saw three month old Elaf Kadhim lying close to death in the Saddam Children's Hospital, suffering from pneumonia, malnutrition and blood poisoning.

The nurses had propped an oxygen mask, designed for somebody much bigger, over his face and were trying to keep the flies off him.

His doctor, Ra'd Al-Janabi, said many more children would die if sanctions were not lifted.

I suggested that it was more complicated than that - that sanctions were a highly political issue, based especially on the United States and Britain's opposition to Iraq's President Saddam Hussein. The doctor shrugged and said that was not his business, but the children were.

Food scarce

In his garden, Karim Kadhum sat with his surviving son, Mustafa, and a photo of Hussein, his youngest, who died after he developed a chest infection.

Mr Kadhum said the first and last reason for his son's death was sanctions. He said Iraqis do not have enough medicine or food.

In the house of the Mohammed family in Baghdad, I saw the month's official food ration - in a tin and a few sacks.

This is paid for by allowing Iraq to export a strictly controlled amount of oil.

The ration is made up of rice, pulses, cooking oil, sugar, salt, tea and dried milk. It is enough to stop it all getting much worse, but not enough to make it better.

In the next room sat Naba Mohammed, 3, a pretty, tiny girl. Like 20% of Iraqi under-fives, her growth has been stunted by malnutrition.

At least she is surviving. Unicef estimates that at least 500,000 children have died, who ordinarily would have lived.

President Bush and his top aides publicly made 935 false statements about the security risk posed by Iraq in the two years following September 11, 2001, according to a study released Tuesday by two nonprofit journalism groups.

"In short, the Bush administration led the nation to war on the basis of erroneous information that it methodically propagated and that culminated in military action against Iraq on March 19, 2003," reads an overview of the examination, conducted by the Center for Public Integrity and its affiliated group, the Fund for Independence in Journalism.

According to the study, Bush and seven top officials -- including Vice President Dick Cheney, former Secretary of State Colin Powell and then-National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice -- made 935 false statements about Iraq during those two years.

The study was based on a searchable database compiled of primary sources, such as official government transcripts and speeches, and secondary sources -- mainly quotes from major media organizations. See CNN viewers' reactions to the study

The study says Bush made 232 false statements about Iraq and former leader Saddam Hussein's possessing weapons of mass destruction, and 28 false statements about Iraq's links to al Qaeda.

Bush has consistently asserted that at the time he and other officials made the statements, the intelligence community of the U.S. and several other nations, including Britain, believed Hussein had weapons of mass destruction.

Responding to the study Wednesday, White House spokesman Scott Stanzel did not speak directly to the "false claims" characterization.

But he said the United States was part of a broad coalition of nations that took part in the Iraq invasion and that the invasion was based on intelligence from multiple countries.

He called Hussein a threat to international security and a sponsor of terrorism, and said the world is better off without him. White House press secretary Dana Perino called the study "flawed."

"They only looked at members of the administration, rather than looking at members of Congress or people around the world," she said. "Because as you'll remember, we were part of a broad coalition of countries that deposed a dictator based on a collective understanding of the intelligence."

"And the other thing that that study fails to do is to say that after realizing that there was no WMD, as we thought as a collective body that there was, that this White House, the President set about to make reforms in the intelligence community to make sure that it doesn't happen again."

Bush has repeatedly said that despite the intelligence flaws, removing Hussein from power was the right thing to do.

The study, released Tuesday, says Powell had the second-highest number of false statements, with 244 about weapons and 10 about Iraq and al Qaeda.

Former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and Press Secretary Ari Fleischer each made 109 false statements, it says. Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz made 85, Rice made 56, Cheney made 48 and Scott McLellan, also a press secretary, made 14, the study says.

"It is now beyond dispute that Iraq did not possess any weapons of mass destruction or have meaningful ties to al Qaeda," the report reads, citing multiple government reports, including those by the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, the 9/11 Commission and the multinational Iraq Survey Group, which reported that Hussein had suspended Iraq's nuclear program in 1991 and made little effort to revive it.

The overview of the study also calls the media to task, saying most media outlets didn't do enough to investigate the claims.

"Some journalists -- indeed, even some entire news organizations -- have since acknowledged that their coverage during those prewar months was far too deferential and uncritical," the report reads. "These mea culpas notwithstanding, much of the wall-to-wall media coverage provided additional, 'independent' validation of the Bush administration's false statements about Iraq."

The quotes in the study include an August 26, 2002, statement by Cheney to the national convention of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

"Simply stated, there is no doubt that Saddam Hussein now has weapons of mass destruction," Cheney said. "There is no doubt he is amassing them to use against our friends, against our allies, and against us."

The claim that "America killed 500,000 iraqi children with sanctions" is crap. My point is not to respond to that, but to point out that I think sanctions were not the right call. In my opinion, Irak should have been invaded and occupied right in the aftermath of the Gulf War and the dictatorship of S.Hussein toppled back then. Sanctions actually helped S.Hussein regain control and popularity for a decade, which was counter-productive. America should have done away with him much sooner and it would then have been able to focus on Iran.
It is better to wage a quick, full, decisive war on your ennemy rather than opt for a protracted, weak form of confrontation that will backfire on you as it lingers without achieving adequate results.

it makes me happy to see muslim nazis complain about starvation and death. If only their claims were true that the usa  and zionists caused it. I would be proud that they carried out hashem's will. Unfortunately its not true and that suffering if these filthy Muslim nazis are from their own doing. Nevertheless I am happy when they suffer and kill eachother while keeping our hands clean.
