People really love to bash this Pope. He hasn't done anything evil sice his youth where it would have been near impossible for him to have done the moral thing. We have some really wonderful Catholic JTF members that I respect very much and really appreciate their being here. On the other hand I think many churches are corrupt, including the RCC.

Are you sure you're not confusing him with the previous Pope?
In either case, I feel that both Popes (the current and former) carried out mistaken policy with regard to Israel and even if they made "ecumenical" gestures, at the national level they were still fighting against the Jewish people by insisting that Jews cannot own sole possession of Jerusalem as a theological principle of theirs.

If you were a Jew living in Judea or Samaria, and the Pope was calling for you and your family to be expelled from your homes so that Arab nazi terrorists can come in and live there instead to fire missiles onto Israel from the spot of your house and to establish a terrorist state over a piece of the Jewish homeland of which your home is a part, wouldn't you wish terrible things on the Pope? Or are you supposed to say, thank you Pope, may I have another?

I don't agree. I think Ron's comments in this thread are completely relevant and I agree with everything he says in reply #25.
I would not publicly wish death on the Pope if I was a spokesman for this organization, but for political communication purposes. To be honest, I would not feel sad if this Pope was killed because I don't think he is a good man. When you are the Pope, you should be as close to a Saint as possible. You don't come anywhere close to a Saint when you promote Holocaust deniers and call for the creation of a "Palestinian" state in the heart of Israel. That is sickening. All the more so when, as Ron pointed out, you represent an institution that has a bloody history of persecution and murder against innocent Jews.

I used to have an employer who would always say to me "Always a reason - Never an excuse!"
There is no excuse for the Nazi Holocaust.
Just as there is no excuse for the Spanish Inquisition, Soviet Gulag, or for that matter the Yesha expulsions.
Nor is there any punishment which could ever "even up the score" as concerns the Jewish People and those who have made life hell on earth for us.
The blood of the Holocaust is a permanent stain on the German nation, and they full well know it.
The grandchildren of the generation that committed genocide are unable to live without guilt, and they know that to the last generation their own great grandchildren will be as guilty as themselves for what their previous generations did.
Neither you, nor I, nor anyone else can remove such a crime from the books, even by incinerating the countries which produced such criminals.
If you really do trust Ha'Shem, and you honestly believe His Plan is leading all of Creation to the World to Come under Moshiach's Kingship, then there comes a time when you can't simply "forgive and forget", but neither can you "even the score" as if you are Ha'Shem's appointed judge, jury, and executioner.
There are historical "reasons" for why the Holocaust occurred, but if there are any "excuses" for such atrocities then Ha'Shem is the only One able to tell you why He Allowed it or Decreed it or simply Ignored it.
Either there is a Divine Plan being played out with The Jews on center stage, or there's no meaning, no purpose, and a world of insane chaos which "appeared and evolved" by accident.
Trying to make perfect sense out of our condition, is simply not within our limited human consciousness.

Fact is this. There's a ton of Catholics in the world and a lot of righteous ones. And yes, they are righteous despite what their ancestors might have done a thousand years ago or more. Chances are if anyone is to send a huge donation to JTF it will probably be from a non-Jew simply for the fact there are way more out there. If one post about wishing death on the Pope turns off a potential rich Catholic donor, then you've done a great disservice. Of course Jews shouldn't rely on gentiles for their survival but turning aside a helping hand is also a sin.

Obviously it doesn't but I think in the end that self-hating Jews are more damaging than anti-Semitic Gentiles. Virtually every catastrophe in the history of the Jews has come about either from traitorous Jewish leadership (like Oslo) or average Jews not being willing to stand up and fight back (like in the Shoah).

In some situations it's hard to blame a gentile leader for supporting an anti-Israel policy when Israeli Jewish leaders themselves support or even devise these same insane policies. For instance Rabin who was a Jew(a terrible one, but a Jew) supported Oslo. Now let's say some gentile leader is against Oslo. Someone can go to that leader and say, "So you know what's better for Israel than the Jews?" What is that leader going to say to his people? In that sense, a self-hating Jew did a lot more damage because he made it hard for righteous gentiles to take a counter position without looking foolish to the common layman.

In my opinion if someone makes a post like that they should be banned from JTF's english section at the very least because of how harmful it is to the cause. A post like that would turn off probably 95% of Catholics in America from every having anything to do with JTF.

No matter what it is ok in popular media/culture to bash Catholics. I am not talking about criticism which is legitimate. I'm talking about the fact that bashing Catholics is a real 'free be,' for everyone, even if they do the same thing or even worse!

All day long on the news on sites like digg and you tube its nothing but Israel bashing and Arab praising.
At least the Catholics have the Vatican , the Jews cant even have Jerusalem , the temple mount or Abraham's tomb without an intifada.

I said that. Self-hating Jews share a lot of the blame Obama being elected by relentlessly promoting blacks over the years even at the cost of their own people. They've lied to their own people that civil rights and tolerance are what real Judaism is all about. Obama's two top advisors Emmanuel and Axelrod are both self-hating Jews. They don't share all the burden obviously but a fair share. The blacks have a reason to support Obama because they're lazy and hateful of whites/Jews. What reason could a Jew possibly have to support a black muslim like Obama? Yet 77% of Jews voted for Obama. JStreet didn't even blame the republican party for opposing Obama. They blamed right-wing JEWS for spreading lies about Obama and trying to focus on Israel. You can't get a more anti-Jewish candidate than Barack Obama yet 77% of Jews(all of which I consider self-hating) voted for a candidate who is against their interests in every way. Even hispanics only voted 67% for Obama and he is/was willing to have full-out amnesty for all illegals.
If people don't like that they can ban me, I suppose. I've had enough conversations with self-hating leftist Jews in my own family over the years to know they irrationally hate anything to the right of center politically and think blacks are just like Jews. Talk to any leftist Jew and you'll find they detest religious Jews(particularly Orthodox) more than anything and are ashamed of them.
Like I said, the mods can ban me if they want. They're in their power to do so. If my posts are akin to calling for the death of the Pope(who I don't particularly like but don't want to see him harmed) then so be it as well.
A reason I'm so pissed off about this is because Jews ARE extremely intelligent people and as a people achieve far greater than others. Their brilliance allows them to excel in a place like America despite their small numbers and their influence is huge compared to other minorities because of it. Not because of some conspiracy, it's because they ARE smarter. Yet they support causes and people who hate them. You can say a lot of whites voted for Obama and that is definitely true, but a lot of white people are stupid morons who don't know their ass from a hole in the wall. You can't say the same for Jews.
