A Brazilian court has ordered McDonald's to pay a former franchise manager $US17,500 ($18,000) because he gained 29kg while working there for 12 years.

The 32-year-old man says he was forced to sample food products each day to ensure that quality standards remained high because McDonald's hired "mystery clients" to randomly visit restaurants and report on the food, service and cleanliness.

The man also says McDonald's offered free lunches to employees, adding to his kilojoule intake while on the job.

My guess is it was probably the free lunches that did it and not the taking of samples, and besides if he wanted to test the quality of the food all he has to do is ask a customer what they think of the taste of the food. I'm not so sure he was doing taste tests with his samples, it sounds like he was abusing his position as a employee to get free food and got fat and now wants some money.

Stupid lawsuit but it's hard for me to feel any sympathy for the D*ckDonald's Corporation. Those pigs should be put out of business, and I'm being a moderate when I say that.

BS I work at a burger king and have enough self control to not eat that food on a daily basis

The only thing they brainwash people into doing is patronizing their restaurants, which is pretty much the goal of advertising for any company. Their menu offers healthy options for those interested, they now provide nutritional information on their packaging and no one forces people who go there to purchase two big macs with extra large fries and 64 oz. of a sugary soda.
