Hail Columbia why aren't you white?
If you're hispanic and white why not just be white?
Unless you're dark.
-
I briefly met Hail Columbia, who struck me as wonderful person. So I personally don't care if he calls himself Hispanic or white.
-
Perhaps he is Argentine? Argentines are white Europeans who are descended directly from white European immigrants to South America from nations like France, Italy, Ireland, and Germany. Argentina is very much like the South Africa of Latin America. So is Chile.
Many old-school Cubans are also mostly or largely white (Spanish). Most Latin American populations run on a continuum from criollos (mostly European-based) to Indians. Usually though all are simply considered "Hispanic" or "Latino".
-
My parents came from the Dominican Republic. I call myself Hispanic since it is the technical term from a white person of Spanish ethnicity, although I have slight admixture.
-
I'm sorry, but Hispanic has gotten a bad name. I know, it's tough.
Of course, if you decided to go for an affirmative action job, tough luck, you're too white.
It doesn't matter since people here love you.
-
I hate talking about races. why not just judge people based on the religion they belong to and the culture each individual follows?
-
I'm Mexican, and yeah we do have a bad name (among those with the balls to not be politically correct), but we have asked for it. HC, none of us care what your background is. Chaim and the rest of us are proud to have a proud Dominican Kahanist. :)
-
I do notice we have alot pf Hispanics on this forum. Maybe JTF can have a movement for the rightious Hispanics and Negroes?
-
I don't really think that is necessary. We already are a movement for all righteous Gentiles.
-
Haha, righteous blacks! What a movement that would be!
-
What if a person is not righteous, but would very much like to be?
Would such a person be welcome at JTF?

NOt righteous, but would like to be, that sounds like me, as it is impossible to be truly righteous, we all do things wrong at times.

Sounds like Fruit of Thy Loins

Do you have Mexican heritage?

Well, as you recall, Sarah was a fairly militant Muslim when she began posting at JTF. Gradually she started to moderate and to question her beliefs, and eventually she voiced wanting to leave her religion, and eventually did.
I think her case illustrates your hypothetical perfectly.

IS SARAH REALLY SARAH?SHE SOUNDS VERY SMART FOR 15

I met Hail Columbia and I thought he looked non-white. He said he has a black ancestor but that the others are white. So he would be considered to be a mulatto and not a mestizo. In his question to Chaim, he said mestizos were the bad ones.
He told me he was born here but I thought I had some sort of accent. Maybe it was just a city accent because he said he was from The Bronx. Maybe he grew up around a lot of Hispanics. But he writes and speaks with proper English, unlike the affirmative action morons that have an accent.
A mulatto is someone with one black parent. Since I have one black great-grandparent, that would make me an octoroon. As for my accent, there were on two occasions in which people thought that I came from from England. The first guy, a black security guard from LaGuardia Community College, noticed that I read the paper every day, and deduced that I obtained that accent from being well-read. And, I did not grow up in any Hispanic neighborhood, although my some of my relatives lived in such neighborhoods, and my parents held jobs there as well.

I actually saw Hail Columbia last Sunday at the unofficial meeting at Queens Collage and he not only looked white he looked like a very nice person. Whatever his background is he is alright with me. He has been a great member of the forum from the start and writes some very good stuff. He also took the time to come to the unofficial meeting last Sunday that everyone knew only a few people would attend. He has also shown great dedication to JTF. Whats the point of this thread anyway.

I third that - what is the point of this thread?
-
We don't judge people by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.

I fourth that. And where does Yacov get off playing the anthropologist and telling us in what category a person's race should be "considered"? (Although he was right to use the word "mulatto," which can mean a person of mixed race of any degree. But whatever....)

Were you born in England? Where in England?
I never lived in England.
-
Not to my knowledge. I lived in the Bronx for much of the first five years of my life.
-
So why do you sound different than other people from New York?
I grew up in Westchester County.
