It wouldn't be funny is he trimmed the hedges while just holding the chainsaw would it?  He is the worlds strongest redneck anyway.

When I used to live in Venice Beach California there was a street performer who was called "The Chainsaw Juggler"... I found this picture of him:

I also remember this character from Venice Beach, Harry Parry.... He would skate around playing Rock music on his guitar with strap-on amplifier:

I have worked with tools like this since I was a young child and I have to say its just crazy to play games like this with them... Chain saws are a very safe tool for the most part if handled correctly however they can quickly do some major damage if they come into contact with an arm or leg...The juggler is one thing but swinging something like that around on the end of a rope is just asking for a problem... The guy is quite comical in the video swinging the saw around but its almost impossible to cut through shrubs like that with a chain saw even if used correctly  :::D He must have a good old hedge trimmer or clipper somewhere nearby  ;D...  This guy must have some nice neighbors is all i can say  :::D

It's possible he took the blade out of the chainsaw. There was a neighbor that had a 'haunted house' set up for halloween and when people came out the exit he'd lunge at them with a chainsaw, which would buzz and look scary, but had no blade attached to it. I guess not I mean the hedges are being trimmed. Ugh...
