I hate this too. An illegal alien from a completely different country comes and gets in-state tuition rates due to the "Dream act" while someone coming from Louisiana would have to pay out-of-state tuition. That's for college though. You and I both know, Rubystars, that this is just a sign of the times. It is "unkind" and "unChristlike" (in Huckabee's words) to deny an education to illegals. If I am not mistaken most polls show that most Texans agree with Perry's policies.
I hate the fact that there are so many small children in elementary schools that are technically legal yet have illegal parents who just happened to drop them on this side of the border.

Whites are a minority in Texas now because of illegal aliens and their "legal" anchor spawn. So most actual Texans probably don't agree with it but if you poll the 'legal' anchor babies right along with the real Texans then the numbers will be skewed. It's really a shame and I wish there was something I could do to change it.
You're so right that there are stupid people who think that it's the "Christian" thing to do to give sanctuary to people who are actually invading from another country or countries. Most of the churches around here now have services in Spanish. They don't realize that the first thing they should tell these people is to go back to their country of origin and if they want to go to the US to apply legally.
Personally at this point I don't want more legal or illegal immigrants. I feel overwhelmed and the quality of life has deteriorated, especially when it comes to customer service at stores where I can't, for example ask a question of a produce manager in a grocery store because they wouldn't understand me. My dad and I went to a barbecue place several months ago and the only person working there didn't understand what we were trying to order.

Whites have been brainwashed into thinking that restrictions on immigration are "unkind". Sadly Christians in particular are susceptible to this sort of thinking. Those who recognize the mortal danger of third-world danger (or rather, that claim to, in many cases) are more often than not the Pedos or Alex Jonesists, I hate to say.

Have things gotten so bad to the point that you have actually thought about moving out of Texas?
Well, my family has been in Texas since it's inception and my answer is to make Aliyah to Israel and fight the power there as did Rav Kahane. That is one example he gave us that we should all emulate.
I am not for giving free rides to anchor babies either. If under the current law a child is born in the U.S. and becomes a "citizen" while its parents are illegal, then the parents should still be subject to deportation for violating the law. If they want the child to remain in the U.S. they will have to arrange for it to be cared for by people that have a legal right to be in the U.S.; otherwise, the child should go with its parents as well and return when it is old enough to fend for itself.
Well my last post was an approach that comes from the paradigm of working within the confines of the current law while changing the policy towards enforcement. If you make it unpalatable it will happen less and less and enforcement policy is much more likely to be changed than the current law. The less you involve the legislators the better. The problem is that if the feds refuse to enforce current law, states are screwed. Look at the trouble Arizona is in now.
The problem Rubystars is that taking a "harsh" stance on immigration will alienate you from so-called "moderate", middle-class whites like the so-called soccer moms.
That's just how it is today. The national debate on immigration is a lot different than it was five years ago. The question isn't whether or not to give these cats and dogs an amnesty, but when and how. >:(
