We will not keep new members on this forum if we expose them to abuse or do not shield others from irresponsible targeting and hostility. It's easy to do what's convenient and hard to do what is moral

To attract more members, maybe we should open more threads on topics other than political debate and political news, because in the end it tends to be repetitive at times.
For instance, there were several threads on scientific topics in the past that brought up very interesting discussions.
Why not talk about art and literature too from time to time ? Why not share personal stories and experiences ? Why not share financial or professional tips ? To a reasonable extent, of course, without overshadowing the primary purpose.
Also, I think it would help if we could allow for a little more diversity of opinions on economic and social issues. For instance, I am nowhere near a socialist, but I do not view taxes necessarily as a robbery, nor am I opposed to all forms of redistribution of wealth. I can't begin to discuss these issues at length now, but wouldn't it be interesting to have a debate over this at some point ?

Great ideas. I think we should be able to discuss differences of opinion without anybody feeling like they're being demonized. I think health topics would be another idea for us to post because if we're not as healthy as we can be we can't do all we can to make this a better world either.

Honey is rather healthy and bee pollen probaby even healthier, but rather expensive.

Since I'm allergic to pollen I don't know if bee pollen is safe for me to eat but I do like honey. I think honey is listed on that world's healthiest foods site but it says it can vary in nutritional value from type to type.

Mental health is at least as important as physical health.

That's true. It's important to keep things in perspective and if someone is depressed they should work on correcting that or get help for it. Sometimes I think physical and mental health are interconnected too.

Depression is a terrible waste. There are so many great things to do and so many things to achieve in this world. One of my main causes for frustration is to have to sleep (although dreaming is an interesting experience).

I like sleeping but sometimes it is an inconvenience if I have other things I'd rather do. I've had a couple of lucid dreams although I don't recommend trying to have them, they are interesting.
I think if someone is depressed due to bad circumstances then they should do what they can to change the circumstances. If someone should be happy but still feels depressed then I think that's more serious.

No one is preventing anyone from doing all that. I would be glad to see you start such threads.

Dr dan was suggesting an idea for how to bring new people here. Are you really suggesting we should not try to bring new people because they won't like it here?

Local bee honey is good for combating allergies for people who get seasonal allergies.

I would even suggest posting links of jtf English videos on those Yahoo tailbacks.

I've heard that too but didn't know if it really worked or not. I like to put honey in herbal tea and on peanut butter sandwiches in place of jelly or with fruit or on toast.

Yes it's important to attract new members but there has been more of a challenge than there should be as far as keeping them once they get here. which is also important.

Let's put it this way KWBRT, a bunch of us have felt this way and have expressed this concern about doing so. There are enough anti-Semites in the world, I don't want to expose someone who is potentially pro-Jewish to unnecessary, seemingly, at times willful, hateful speech. Why should anyone want to put up with that when they have no connection to us at all? I strongly think that all of this on this forum would do a lot of good to look at how the other person might view our statements if we were they.
