Unfortunately, child stars end up looking very strange as they mature.  Hollywood picks them because they look younger than they are, and that look becomes a curse later on in life.  The kid who played the artful dodger in Oliver, and Jimmy in H.R. puff in stuff looked very creepy as a mature adult and died at only 53.

One of the things I thought of at the beginning was that no real show from the 50s would have been that violent lol.  :::D
