From a football perspective... I think he is mediocre at best.
However, as a role model and as a person... he seems very positive. He had a very nice pro-life commercial last year on the super bowl and it caused all sorts of controversy from the media. I think the media deeply hates him... but they also acknowledge that he helps with ratings... so its a love hate relationship.

I can't see where the media likes him one bit.

do they hate him more than love him???he certainly causes a big stir.
-
Yes i think the media hates him. Compare how they treat the football players who rape, carry guns and are married and fool around with other women they glorify them.
-
I respect that he has faith and shows it on the football field. He is a good example of a good football role model especially compared to the rapists, drug dealers, child molesters, and animal abusers who are so positively reinforced.

FYI, his girlfriend is hot.

Sportswriters like him. I think he is great.

Just search on Google. Might end up causing religious Jews to sin by looking because you simply will be staring.

When the left wing media hates someone to me that's a symbol that the person is doing something right.

Oh please! Mediocre? In his rookie season he had better running stats than Michael Vick did in his rookie season. Michael vick was a terrible qb and was purely a runner when he first came into the league but the media raved and raved about him ("oh what an athlete!" "so exciting" etc). Over time, he got better at throwing. So will Tebow. But of course they focus on his shortcomings in throwing NOW, meanwhile he's a better runner than Vick was, and he led his team to the playoffs in his first season. People need to wake up, this kid has talent.
-
Michael Vick should be thrown into a pit full of starving rottweilers, naked.
-
I think black qb's who are athletic and can run and scramble get a positive stereotype by the media and sportswriters as "athlete."
While a white qb who can scramble and run well gets negatively stereotyped as "bad thrower." I think Tebow is a classic example of this bias.

As HaRav said 25 years ago, the (not-so) new religion in America is worshipping negroes.
-
i think attributing any sporting result to god's work is shameful. tebow has been pretty humble about it. i wish the sport media would stfu and i wish his critics would go to hell like that rat bill maher.

I never said I liked Michael Vick. I would put Vick in the same category. Running quarter backs never are consistently competitive in the NFL. Yes, Tebow had a strong throwing game against a very good defensive team on Sunday, but that was not at all typical for him.
-
Don't forget the rookie phenomena, cam newton, yet another scrambler. Of course nothing negative about his throwing either.

great post. In america theres no bigger affirmative action than in Basketball and NFL. Even though whites players individually always suceed to very highlrvels despite being 3-1 outnumbered in those sports.

Affirmative action? The NBA is 80% Black. They would love to get White players.
