Google Chrome browser is spyware that reports every URL you type, every search, and every download you do to Google. By using Google Chrome, all of your privacy is being handed to Google marketing - every web address and search you type - even if you never hit enter. Chrome sends every download - the URL and IP of the host and other meta data such as the file’s hash and binary size - to Google.

Chrome does have a "Incognito" feature which purports that it doesn't send all this information to google. I have not verified if this is the case {by doing 'packet sniffing' one can determine exactly what it being sent back to google}. I do like Chrome because I keep my bookmarks and history on google and can access it on any machine I have given my credentials on.... I use about six machines every day {not including virtual machines} and it is convenient to have my history and bookmarks synchronized.
When doing sensitive browsing I do switch to incognito mode... We should make sure it is really as secure as they claim it to be...

What's wrong with Google knowing that? Aren't we all being monitored/traced anyways? My friend told me if somebody so much as tries to search the words "child porn", the feds will be at your door withing a matter of minutes.

Most people here don't even know what you are talking about, and you sound like you are trying to completely negate the danger. If you use Chrome like any normal user, your information is sent to Google, period. Why defend Google? You want to help and defend Google that's owned by 2 self-hating Jews that donate to every cause we stand against including the destruction of Israel? They give millions of dollars to obama. They give millions of dollars to gay marriage. Why would we help Google? And so, muman, would you prefer to have every person have all their browsing privacy trampled on and sold to advertisers because you like bookmark syncing? Why are you trying to sell people on Chrome now and make it look attractive? Would you let all your family's information be sold?
Mo: "Aren't we all being monitored/traced anyways?" is a dangerous thing to say. While I understand, there are places where you are tracked, and places you are not - and it takes work to fight. And where we are tracked, why make it worse? We are obligated to fight evil.

I'll bet that this is the same for Internet Explorer. You have to use a browser. And the price of it being "free" is that they get to tap your browsing history and send it to advertisers. If there is a "pay" browser that doesn't do this, let me know. It is the same thing for search engines and for media players.
Nothing on the internet is really for free. If you can delete your shopping cookies every 30 seconds off your computer, you might block some sites from accessing them but that is not really accessing the web. So that is the price you pay.

I don't use chrome though. I'm just really ignorant on the subject (as I am on most things), and I am here to learn.

I am not defending google, I am stating that the product works well for me... I use android OS so google already knows everything about me...
I am concerned about loss of privacy... And this is why I mention the Incognito mode. Firefox has a similar feature...

I bet they sell the information to screw over businesses. What could be a bigger security threat than a company that makes money from your information? Not necessarily from the company either, considering anyone could exploit this system that literally the whole world has access to. If I chose when and where I deem it appropriate to share private or sensitive information that's fine, but I can't believe one person said well taking everyone's information will stop child porn. Google could just block that content anyways which it does, and do you in you're right minds think that they would do this whole expensive tirade of controlling the internet that dictatorships all around the world do for such a knightly pursuit, if they couldn't earn money or power? If that crap shows up on google, that person is going to jail, because the whole world with internet knows, and cops and easily arrest them. Obviously if people search for a giant text that they just wrote about how they're gonna kill people, and searches like that and child/rape/... porn and like hundreds of scenes of people being killed, or people killing like household pets come up, google should turn the ip over to the police. There's a record of just that anyways which is hunky dory, but not my website visits. Google usually does the first site before and after with its cookies, which sucks, but you don't want everything, people could also basically figure out which days you're home more, and there's a million reasons why releasing private information is bad.

I actually use incognito all the time. I just press shft cntrl n whenever I want a clean slate.
Chrome is just so much faster for what I do; much cleaner... and there are plenty of extensions out there for those who are worried about cookie tracking.

Thanks Shlomo. I just installed Firefox and must say that it is faster than Chrome. Other day I was very concerned about surfing on internet with Chrome. If I visit page to look for something the advertisement shows on totally unrelated pages where you would never expect. This is my last posting here with Chrome. Google had cost me nice amount of money this year. They support gay marriage? Wow, thanks for the warning.

I appreciate the warning and I'm sure you're right but for the time being, I don't think law-abiding citizens have anything to fear. At least I don't.

Well there are ways.... If you can download the video stream you can split the audio stream using a variety of tools {depending on which Operating System you are using}. Linux has a bunch of handy tools {ffmpeg,mplayer, etc.} which can be used to encode an mp3 stream extracted from a transport video stream. Some of these tools are available for Windows also. Several commercial {for pay} utilities are available to do this also.
If you want to be able to record from internet radio there is a way using mplayer...

I am anti piracy.... I believe the technology to extract audio and video streams is not illegal. What is illegal is to copy something and attempt to make money from it. I do believe that for personal use we should be able to extract audio from a video stream. Of course with this knowledge comes the ability to break the law... But just as owning a gun should not be illegal, shooting someone who didn't deserve to be shot with it should be illegal.

Since I'm broke anyway, I have a very "meh" attitude about that. Is it right? No, but I can't muster up that much outrage.
