What is it that is accomplished there that cannot be dealt with via messaging?
Reminds me of Animal Farm when the pigs decided to move into Mr. Jones' house.
The whole thing stinks of meritocracy and has resulted in the mishandling of an infamous quasi-banning and the latest fiasco.
Yes, we need our wonderful moderators-that is a given. But part of me is yearning for the days before moderators when relations between posters seemed a bit less turbulent.

Im dont understand ;D
The moderators have a forum that only they can access so they can chat amonst themselves.
Animal farm is a fable about farm animals who have a socialist revolution and take over the farm. The pigs are the new rulers and declare that all animals are equal. The pigs then get the best food, best housing and best everything. When the other animals ask what happened to equallity, the pigs answer "some animals are more equal than others".

Hello Trumpeldor, and good day to you.
While I appreciate your concern over some of the recent events, I do not believe the admins/mods forum is the problem. The "quasi-banning" of ChaimFan, which I believe you're referring to, was not discussed on the board at all beforehand showing how important the feature actually is. The latest events with Allen-T involve an issue that would have came to the forefront sooner or later, and blaming a particular section is wrongheaded.
We created the section as a means to discuss important issues as a group rather than making big decisions on personal impulse. I believe that's a good thing, and it has helped tremendously in ways that you haven't seen first hand.
With kindest regards, and awaiting Shiloh,
Christopher

The Hebrew forum has such a board too.
Really? very nice to know..

That forum is needed in order for us to come to a consensus on various different issues.

I would like to know what consensus has been reached on anything. All I see are various disputes that almost always reach Jimmy or Chaim before they are resolved.

Almost all bans and major forum changes have all been decided in that section. I'm not really sure why this is an issue.
If you need an example, a few of the last issues decided were how to handle Allen's moderator status and turning off the "rating" feature.
I think we have more important things to worry about other than the moderator forum.

The moderators only section is a good idea.

I think every decent sized forum has such a section-it's a must.

It's needed right at the moment while everyone's having an e-riot.
