Chaim, would taking night courses in cuny queens for example, be an appropriate way to go about it? Perhaps take it a bit further and take Hebrew literature eventually? I guess my goal would be to know Hebrew well enough to blend into Israeli society. I hate it when people say, "oh Israelis know English, you'll be fine. ". But that's simply false. When and if that time comes, I would have to start over again and I better have my crap together, pardon my language.
Maybe I'm overreacting. But I see the difficulty of Persian Jews who left Iran when it was too late and who had to lose everything and start from scratch again. That, to me, seems impossible since people have always done things for me.

People want big government, gay marriage, abortion, free contraceptives and a government to take care of them. We have reached the tipping point where people can vote themselves government benefit and are not restrained about it.

Ruby, we're not done yet! This is just G-d cleaning up the mess! He just gave the bottom feeders everything they want, they will use everything up, and they will all fall apart. They will have no one to blame but themselves. When things start to get bad, and our rights start to be taken away, people will wake up!

TEL AVIV — The state of Israel will not capitulate before President Obama, whose “naive” leadership has hurt the U.S., stated Danny Danon, deputy speaker of Israel’s Knesset.
Danon, a Knesset member from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s ruling Likud party, was reacting to the reelection of Obama.
Danon told KleinOnline: “Obama’s victory demonstrates that the state of Israel must take care of its own interests. We cannot rely on anyone but ourselves. Obama has hurt the United States by his naïve leadership in foreign policy, which prefers the Arab world over the Western world, along with Israel. The state of Israel will not capitulate before Obama. ”
Earlier this week, KleinOnline quoted a senior Palestinian Authority negotiator claiming that if Obama secures another four years in office, he will use his second term to target Netanyahu as the main party to blame for the collapse of Mideast peace talks.
The negotiator further claimed that Obama quietly pledged to the Palestinians a campaign at the United Nations to renew U.N. Security Council Resolution 242, which calls for a Palestinian state to be established in the West Bank, Gaza Strip and eastern Jerusalem.
The PA negotiator said the White House had asked the Palestinians to slow their drive for the unilateral declaration of a state at the U.N. General Assembly.
The negotiator further said Obama had promised the PA that the establishment of a Palestinian state will be one of the main priorities for a second term.
“We were told that the negotiations for a Palestinian state will be a main goal for Obama,” said the negotiator. “Netanyahu will be declared the main person responsible for the collapse of the peace process.”

a) Canada is very _ANTI_ Israel. Far more Anti Israel than typical Americans.
b) Canada is a socialist hell hole. We've had Barrack Obama since the 1970s.
c) Yes, Canada is very cold... Remember some time back when you had that snowstorm in the US and the Shvartzas went on strike? Snowstorms like that a re a daily occurence in the winter, even in the southernmost cities... What you call "Alpine Country" in New York, like Catskills or Monsey or syracuse is halfway between Ney York City and Toronto. Imagine how much colder it is in Toronto...
A lot of the post-Holocaust Jews settled in Montreal and it has been a catastrophe for them. It is a very depressing country with very unfriendly people, the only reason why our Prime Minister is buddy-buddy with Israel is because he relies on Israeli companies (Teva a.k.a Apotex) for high quality generic medicine (Israeli Generic Medicine far exceeds the quality of any other generic medicine in the world, and is sometimes even better than the original) to feed the black hole of a socialist healthcare system. This is the same man (Stephen Harper) who has allowed a quarter of a million immigrants a year to flood into the country from all over the world, many of them Moslems. Go to Downtown Toronto and take a good look at the white homeless people, that's where you'll be in a few years if you bank everything on immigrating here.

The Canadian "economy" has been in a great depression since the 1980s. We never boomed temporarily in the 90s because the banks here refuse to loan money. The white population has long since diminished, through a gradual program of population reduction and attrition, and the whole country is on welfare. The only good thing about Canada is that it's very cold and the schvartzas don't like to live here... Doesn't mean we don't have any, but far, far less than NY. Toronto has been a White minority since the early 90s BTW.
Harper is a blowhard, completely useless, and a false "conservative". Like I said, he has no interest in appeasing the Arabs because he views Iran and the Saudis as competition to the Canadian oilsands. They need massive amounts of revenue to fund the failing socialist programs here, they can't just issue fiat like the US.
Remember that this is the same country that said "None is too many" when they were asked to take refugees from the Holocaust.

The conservatives need to change the mind of America in its poor cultural ways. They won't win hearts by being in your face or obviously conservative. They need to go underground, create tv shows and movies that grasp at the sensitivities of all Americans.
You can't ban abortion if nobody wants to ban abortion. But you can change the hearts and minds of individuals, of whom most love babies by creating sitcoms and shows and movies and documentaries that help change hearts of individuals that think abortions are about a woman's right to her body. I'm sorry..i think this is the only way. We cannot force feed ideas to people who think they have the right way. Look what bozo got elected for the next 4 years. Americans think black is white, up is down, day is night, bad is good. And it didn't happen over night..it happened gradually to this breaking point.
Changing this world wont' necessarily benefit us in our lifetime..but perhaps we can change it to benefit those who will come after us. We learn a lesson in the second and third day of creation. In the second day, Gd separated the waters from the heavens, but never said anything about being good. On the third day, Gd created land, said it was good. And then created plant life and said it was good. This is to mean that the beginning of the third day was a continuation from the second day. Why is it written like this? What did Gd want to show us when He did this? He wanted to show us patience. He wanted to show us that sometimes we work hard at something in life; we pray for something and we don't get results that same day. However, certain things take time to show the results...prayers and hard work. If we pray today and work hard today, we might not see any results tomorrow or even our lifetime. However, the future generations, Gd willing, will get the reward from our prayers and hard work.
Fellow JTFers, don't despair. I know that we all want to live on a righteous paradise on earth in our lives. And I know how frustrating it is that all of our hard work and prayers are not being answered at this moment. But remember...all that we are doing, even if it doesn't benefit us in our lifetime, will surely show itself for the next generations after us. And the reason why it will work with what we do is because WE DO NOT COMPROMISE ON MORAL PRINCIPLES.
The fake American right wing that want to compromise their moral principles just to win an election in the future will turn to dust like everything else turns to dust...ideas that will come and go and fail after some time. But Gd, Truth, Morality, Torah, Judaism, Righteousness will never disappear and will always be for all good decent people Jewish or not Jewish.
So hold tight and let's keep on chugging along.

My older muslamic colleague got retired and visited his son at Canada. After returning he planned to settle at Canada. I asked him -Why? He said Canada is just like America and certainly better in many aspects. That day I understood the fate of Canada.
