It's a wider cultural trend in America. People are offended so easily and you must always walk on eggshells. You can't give an F to students in some primary schoold, or so I've heard. And there are no real competitions in sports, everybody gets a participation prize and there are no losers.

You also have to say "handicapable" or else you supposedly offend the handicap. You also have to use "sepecial person" instead of retarded person. Soon you won't be allowed to say dead person or a corpse, it would be "inanimate person" or "vitally challenged".
