Title: Summer Tips
Post by: MasterWolf1 on July 10, 2007, 06:09:40 PM
I care about everyone so being I was a lifeguard in pools in NJ when I was 17, 18.  And we are now at peak Summer sun and heat.  Remember guys and gals anytime you go out to make sure you have bottled water, wear a cap with a brim for your head, and shades for your eyes when the rays are strong.

Avoid soda and coffee the caffiene can make things worst.  Sun stroke can be very dangrous.  Try to wear light color clothing also to keep your body temp down.

Also if you do swim either in pools or beaches make sure there are guards on duty. NY State law demands a guard which is a good thing, some local pools in NJ how ever do not require a lifeguard while swimming so you are taking a risk.

And if you know of any elders or young children make sure you check on them time to time and that they have a good AC when indoors.

If you own a car put a towel on the steering wheel to keep it cool as it can be from the sun heat.

This is basically some helpfull hints as we are in the mits of Summer, I love this season compared to Winter but we must take warnings of it.

Great Tips.

Also, if you sweat heavily you should drink salt water to help get salt back into your body.

Swim in clean salt water as often as you can. Don't ask me why, but it's almost as good as Jewish-made chicken soup for curing /preventing ailments.

Salt water is a natural disinfectant and also very nourishing for the skin.

Exactly....it's the strong sun that gives you skin like old boots...not the sea water.

"I always have the unfortune to swallow cupfuls of seawater"

Do your parents let you swim on a mixed beach in a regular bathing suit?.....I didn't think they would.

No, never. :) I either go in the early morning when the beach is empty, and the water is freezing, or try and find an empty beach. Otherwise i would go in a t-shirt and trousers, last year my dad made me cover my arms as well so i stopped going completely. This is only abroad.

No. That was a crazy thread in the South America section by this whacko from a virtual country called Let-Be Land. We all just pulled on his chain. We started a virtual State of Judea. One thing lead to another and before long the two states declared war on each other.

I took the role of Lt Col Newman, Oceannia Batt, Noachide Legion and sent an aerial verbal abuse barrage and sent a team of Tasmanian inbreds behind their lines . It was really funny  .

This guy took it seriously too

I'm all for modest swimwear, for men and women.  At my parents' neighborhood pool I see these girls sprawled out on the lounge chairs with maybe two or three inches of fabric covering their privates.  That's not right.  Another time I saw a woman who had to be at least 60 years old a a bright red strapless string bikini.  Why???

But regarding those Muslim bathing suits, how on earth can you swim in them?  There's so much fabric.

There are always two extremes. The level at which bathing suits have become immodest is unacceptable, not purely on religious grounds but decency and natural shame as well. Why.........because they all want to be noticed, thought the 60 year old woman seems to have a different agenda. :D

I think the best thing, Yacov once suggested, is to have completely seperate pools for both women and men. However it isn't even nice for women to be subjected to such sights! I feel embarrassed when i see women in bikinis.

You should see some of the bathing suits in Australia! They consist of two band aids and a cork!

I agree with Yacov about having separate beaches for men and women.  But then again, if modest swimwear was the style, then perhaps it wouldn't be an issue.  But modest clothing never seems to be in style

I've sickened myself in managing how that is possible.

Lisa, since clothing is increasingly becoming immodest do you reckon there will be a stage in the future in which some people may wear bikinis as casual wear. I know that sounds completely crazy, but thats how "style" works, around a crazy influx.

It's possible Sarah.  But I think the main obstacle is that bikinis will most likely not cut it in most offices.  Then there's also the price of permanent hair removal.  Laser hair removal is very expensive, and you need to go for several treatments just to remove small patches of hair.  Electrolysis is even more expensive, and again, you need several treatments before the hair follicles are completely destroyed.

Although waxing is less expensive compared to the procedures I listed above, I don't know how many women would really want to get bikini waxes every other week.  (Sorry for being gross guys.)

On the other hand, shaving is inexpensive and works fine for a lot of women.  Then again, it's not ideal for certain parts of the body.

But even now, I see women on the streets and subways wearing flimsy halter dresses and strapless sundresses in the summer.  So who knows?

Ekk, I hate Winter though lol.  I am one of those that get in a rut when the weather starts getting cold, and its dark at 5 p.m.,  when its snow and ice all over, and the flu season.  I don't mind the hot weather, but still we all got to respect Mother Nature in this.  She can be brutal.
