I have never, ever heard of any mainstream Republican figures doing that, but I know that a lot of her beloved Democrats were rooting for the Union to lose the Civil War.

I don't know.  Is Bette Midler even relevant today?  Has she done anything since the 1980's?

Yes.  Look at her Twitter account.  Which I did just now.  For the first and last time.  New Yorkers know Midler for what she is...a bleeding heart liberal.  Something that is easy to be when you look down from a throne.

Yes.  Maybe not to you.  But to 'Broadway people', a whole set of greying folks, gays and lesbians....
New Yorkers get to hear her radical liberalness whenever she needs to raise money for her charities.
If only we never had to hear the opinions of 'stars'.  I find nine out of ten times I can't ever watch or listen to their work again after hearing them interviewed.

And I just don't get Twitter.  Who has time to follow people on Twitter?
