Perhaps he hails from some backward place where raping donkeys is considered very normal. According to some youtube video by "vice" this is more common then you might think.

I never knew Hispanics did that I thought it was strictly an Arab thing nowadays.

It is not a general practice among hispanics, which is a huge heterogeneous group of Spanish speakers. According to the video I mentioned there are some rural areas in Columbia where it is considered very normal for teenagers and young adults to "practice" on donkeys, until they are married and then expected to stop this.
