I agree Chaim...

My mother and step-dad are not observant, and they are up in years... I must respect them, and even when they tell me things which are not the most kosher, I have to 'bite my tongue' in order to avoid creating issues with my mom.

It bothered me enough that I had to call my Rabbi about it, and he said basically what you said.

Naomi Klien's horrid No Logo book says that corporations are advertising everywhere, and are sneaking it into places it shouldn't be, so in a completely ironic move, I have to study this book in a 100% unrelated class (like we studied Marx in gym class in high school) and her solution is that if there is socialist control by the United Nazis, we will liberate ourselves from ads.
