Because Michael Jackson was a huge worldwide megastar who (unfortunately) had influence upon millions and millions people.  Maybe it's just that he's not of concern in your world.

What kind of influence? A dance style? Or do you believe that his fans actually enjoy his perversions also? I think the most influence he had was on a style of dance called the 'moonwalk'.
