This is absolutely disgusting.... a total lack of even the most remote trace of honor or dignity. Taking advantage of someone's generosity is very lowdown indeed.

Yes unfortunately I can believe that. Pan handlers will use lots of tricks to enhance their perceived miseries, or strike their target's emotion cords.
Are the ones pretending to be blind or maimed any better? The ones who make up a story about having sick hungry children at home any better?
