Title: Reagan and Lebanon
Post by: RationalThought110 on August 12, 2007, 01:23:52 AM
Why did Reagan ever send US troops to Lebanon?  Wasn't that a bad use of the US military?  Didn't the US policy in Lebanon interfere with Israel's military?

Yes, Reagan's entire point was to physically stop the IDF from taking out the Lebanese Muslim military and their PLO allies. He was literally willing to fight Israel on behalf of his Saudi goatrapist friends.

I'm confused as to how Saudia Arabia has anything to do with Lebanon.  Could you please explain this?

The point was that since the Saudis were such good friends of Reagan, he would do anything on behalf of fellow Muslims that they would ask for.

I can't stand that so many conservatives think of Reagan as someone that all presidents should want to mimic.  Other than nominating Scalia to the Supreme Court and maybe some tax cuts, did Reagan's administration do anything else that was good?

Anyone know if Reagan did anything good besides nominating Scalia to the Supreme Court and some tax cuts?
