Myself I am a former Marine (20 years).
I am politically a conservative.
I am an atheist (I don't think its a religion though ::) I was raised a Christian for what thats worth.
I am a steadfast supporter of Israel.
I love my country, my family, and auto racing.
I found this forum from a video on You Tube, since I enjoy conversing with like minded people thought I'd drop in
and see what you folks are all about.
my favorite saying and I don't know who said it just something I've heard for most of my life
"Doing whats popular isn't always right, and doing whats right isn't always popular".

Welcome!

Welcome to the board. We welcome atheists as well.

this is the first time i am replying to anybody's introductory statements, so i hope this works.
what i want to say is that i suspect that when you say you were raised a christian but have since become an atheist, that maybe what you object to are childish notions of G-d. but that does not mean that G-d does not exist. perhaps there are more sophisticated notions of G-d that you might consider examining.
in any case, I am not here to push any particular religious beliefs; I am engaging in thinking out loud here more than anything else.

everybody has to choose if they believe or not in G-d....it`s he`s decision....

Well - that is part of what the forum is for thinking out loud and open civil discussion - not bad for a 2nd post. :)
Again welcome to you and Dave the Marine!

Semper Fi, Dave. welcome aboard.
Only Marines are supposed to say that to each other newman. ;)
Welcome to the forum Dave, thanks for your service, you will find yourself very welcome here with likeminded individuals. Being atheist is fine too, don't worry no one will try to convert you but you might see some posts on here that could convince you that there is an eternal creator. ;)

I like you guys (& gals) already. I do not object to anyone telling their personal views on any subject, that includes G-d or any other subject. I am openminded (to an extent, that I will listen to rational well thought out arguements). However, if one does not apply some logical evaluation and open mind could quickly become a sewer. I am certainly glad I found this forum and am looking forward to reading and commenting (or thinking outloud with all of you). In the words of Tiny Tim "God bless you everyone". Even though I don't believe personally my only objection to religion is when someone wants to force me to believe as they do, or worse yet kill me if I don't comply.
