Baby Murdered in Jerusalem Terror Attack

Hamas terrorist from Silwan runs over pedestrians leaving light rail; 8 injured. Infant dies of wounds.
A baby girl was killed and eight people were injured Wednesday, after a terrorist hit them with his car outside the Givat Hatachmoshet (Ammunition Hill) Light Rail stop.
"A private car hit passengers from the light rail near the police national headquarters. The car's driver attempted to escape and was shot, apparently by a police officer from the Jerusalem district," police spokeswoman Luba Samri said in a statement.
The Arab driver has now been confirmed (7:40 pm IST) to have been resident of the Shiloach/Silwan neighborhood and a member of Hamas - and to have served in Israeli prison [and was released!] before for terrorism, according to Police Spokesperson Micky Rosenfeld.

A Hamas spokesman openly welcomed news of a terror attack in Jerusalem by one of its terrorists, which left nine people injured and killed a three month-old baby.
"This is a natural response to the crimes of the occupation and invasion of our land by the Jews (http://www.israelnationalnews.com/Articles/Article.aspx/15847), particularly on the Al-Aqsa Mosque (Temple Mount)," Hamas spokesman Hossam Badran stated on official Hamas television.

The terrorist, who was shot and killed, was imprisoned in Israel for 16 months for “security crimes” in the past. He was released in December 2013. He was arrested again in February 2014 and imprisoned for a month, and then released again. While police believe he acted on his own, Hamas has claimed responsibility for the attack. Abed in a nephew of Muchi a-Din Sharif, the former commander of Hamas’ Izzadin el-Kassam military wing who was eliminated in 1998. Following the attack on Wednesday evening 28 Tishrei, police raided his home and arrested a 15-year-old brother. Security forces met resistance and clashes followed.
PA (Palestinian Authority) Minister of Prisoner Services Riad el-Malaki released a statement expressing sorrow over the death of the young terrorist.
