Tread carefully here. The Nazis were a major popular movement not a fringe sidekick.

I'm not sure what you're saying here--what is there to tread carefully about?

Most of their initial supporters were ex soldiers, unemployed disgruntled men. They weren't a "gay power" movement even though their leader was completely depraved.

I meant to be careful not to make people think only homosexuals and perverts were Nazis, and so clear the vast majority of Germans of responsibility.

No, of course I wasn't trying to do that Zelhar. But I think it is totally historically valid to point out how the core of Nazism was made up of deviants of the worst kind, who were then able to win over "normal" Germans because they shared Jew-hatred.
